Customer Review: The first thing that has really worked for post nasal drip.

I have been trying everything I could think of to relieve my chronic sinus problems. Over the years, I've been able to get to the point where I don't get the full blown sinus infection and fever, but I am usually miserable from Dec. - Feb. and I have the lower grade of sinus problems the rest of the year. This year the post nasal drip became so bad that I was unable to sleep again. The next stage is that it goes into my chest and it's always down hill from there. A friend at work recommended the Neilmed nasal rinse. I bought it and started using it twice a day for the last 25 days. I noticed improvement immediately and after three days, my sinues felt better than they had in years. I have had no post nasal drip for the last 25 days of December. This has allowed me to get more sleep and has improved my general health overall. I haven't tried this with a sinus infection or with a cold, so I don't know how it will work under those conditions, but I can say for sure, in my case, it has eliminated the post nasal drip problem, which always leads to more serious complications for me. It takes a few minutes to prepare the solution and to clean the bottle twice a day, but it has been a small price to pay for the relief it has provided. I really wish I had heard about this when my allergies went into overkill in late June. I was taking up to 3 meds a day and was worried that might not be good, went to see my doc and changed the medications from OTC to Singuliar, Flonase and Zrytec. That worked for about 2 weeks and then I started to feel my asthma being triggered, which lead into bronchitis. Got that all in check, but my nose would not stop with the post nasal drip and it was making me congested.
WELL, I heard about this little goodie and started using it yesterday. I am already seeing INSTANT improvement! My hacking cough is gone, finally!! I can actually breathe through my nose, still a little stuffy, but I have heard after a few days use, it will get significantly better. I have not even had to touch my inhaler either. I totally recommend this!
It's is something to get used to, but so worth it!! (I read another review where she said her husband didn't snore, which my husband hasn't noticed yet. But that will definitely be nice for him and even better for me, being as I know I sleep better when I don't snore.)

I have been a neti pot user for over a year. For the first year I used the Neilmed's "pediatric" packets I ended up with. I don't know why, but they did not work as well as these work. It could have been me for all I know. This time I read the booklet that came with the product from cover to cover and learned a lot about how to use the product and what results to expect. I have been off my prescription allergy medications (oral and nasal) for almost a month now. In their place, I use the Neilmed's saline packets with my neti pot every morning (and some evenings), and only once in all that time have I needed to take an OTC allergy pill. I prefer the natural, holistic approach to medical issues anyway, and this is working for me with my allergies and sinuses. I have not had a sinus headache in all that time either. I read a lot of the reviews of this product before I bought it, and am now adding my five-star rating to the others! From one who has SUFFERED from year round allergy and sinus problems for the past three years, this last month has been nothing short of miraculous.Customer Review: Not All Created Equal

I second the praise others have left for nasal rinsing in general. I suffer from severe allergies, and this has helped orders of magnitude more than anything else. If your nose is so clogged that your antihistamine spray can't work properly, this is the product for you.
It also helps tremendously in the allergen avoidance department. I love being outdoors, but am highly allergic, so I do an extra rinse after a hike and it hardly has time to affect me, when I used to have a huge post-hike crash.
I want to add a word about NeilMed packets specifically. I bought a box of store brand refills thinking it couldn't be any different. I was completely wrong. The store brand was uncomfortable in my nose, and left a bad taste in my mouth that ruined the flavor of food all day for me. I threw out the rest of the box and bought NeilMed refills. They are very comfortable in my nose, and leave only a slight tear-like salty taste in my mouth, if any, which quickly dissipates and doesn't ruin the taste of food at all.

I have been using the Neil-Med Sinus Rinse everyday Sept 2007 and It has really cut down on my Sinus Infections. In 2007, I had 4 sinus infections! Since I started using the rinse, in 2008, I only had ONE(big difference). If you think about it, we clean our ears, we brush our teeth, we clean just about everything EXCEPT our noses and our noses are one of the body parts that can get really nasty so it makes sense to me to rinse it out every now and then or even everyday! I like using the squeeze bottle that neil med provides rather than the neti pot which I always found awkward to use. The Solution packets are great because it is the perfect measurement. Most of my family also suffers from allergies and sinus problems and I have now turned on many of them to this great product! Neil Med Sinus rinse is the natural way to cut down on your sinus and allergy problems and is also a very inexpensive way! Amazon has the best deal on the two box combo for the solution packets, you wont find it cheaper elsewhere!
