I purchased this scale because we buy our meat in bulk and wanted to more accurately (guesswork and eyeballing be gone!) be able to break it down and freeze it into 2-person sized portions. It's lightweight and easy to use. It displays in both ounces and grams, but doesn't convert to pounds/kilograms so you'll need to adjust for that (or always repeat to your significant other that 16oz - 1lb). The only thing I don't care for is that the auto shutoff feature doesn't give a very long time before it turns off so you'll have to weigh things out a little faster or turn it back on and re-tare. We don't use it everyday but we've had it for a year and the battery life is still going strong.
