Personally I like nioxin better i think for shampoos it also has DHT inhibitors and think that biotin is better when taken orally as a vitamin supplement. I am a board certified MD and have thin hair myself.

I bought this shampoo based on the many 5-star reviews on here. Now I'm wondering who really wrote them, because this shampoo did not deliver on its promises whatsoever! Firstly, the scent of the shampoo is not that great; it's like sour vanilla, which I don't find pleasant. Secondly, I've tried washing my hair with this shampoo one day, then another shampoo the next to see if there's a difference in hair loss and hair texture/fullness. This shampoo causes me to lose MORE hair (in a 24-our period) versus my sodium laurel sulfate-free (SLS-free) shampoo (which makes my hair look fuller and lose less of it in a 24-hour period). I've tried this shampoo for two weeks now and each time, I've noticed that my hair feels like cotton-candy (not thick and voluminous, just puffy), and that my hair feels more dirty quicker than with other shampoos that I use. Plus, the biggest thing is that it does not prevent hair loss whatsoever (in fact, I feel it promotes it!), so I do not recommend this product.
There are many reasons why any person might be losing hair. If it's due to medication, talk to your doctor and change your meds a.s.a.p. If it's gradual loss due to genes or age, talk to a dermatologist specializing in hair loss. If it's due to hormones, talk to an OB/GYN and get your blood tested (ferritin, iron levels, hormones, complete thyroid, lupus. Women, also get assessed for PCOS, which is another reason for hair loss). If your hair loss is due to DHT (dihydro-testosterone) androgens that attacks hair at the roots, try Nizarol shampoo instead, 2-3 times a week; it helps to reduct DHT on the scalp, so you'll lose less hair. Take Biotin supplements (5000 mcg daily), make sure you have enough protein in your diet on a daily basis, and REDUCE STRESS to the best of your abilities. All that to say, I have read MONTHS worth of research and studies, and made several visits to different dermatologist, and there are other ways to help your hair loss situation, but this shampoo is NOT it.

I bought this shampoo because I thought I was losing some hair. Not only did this not help hair loss or regrowth, but it completely dries out your existing hair.
The solution for healthier hair cannot be achieved by shampoo. The answer is shampooing your hair less frequently. My hair feels the healthiest if I only shampoo about 3 times per week. No need to buy an expensive bottle of shampoo like this, it's a scam. Buy a cheap shampoo and use it very sparingly.
