I used a Panasonic model until it recently died on me. I bought this Oster model because it was on sale for four bucks. The item looks cheap but it does have a powerful motor. Unfortunately the design of the tip does not seem to cut the hair as efficiently as models with the round tips. I don't know what else you could use this for. I used it for 30 seconds and knew it would not work for me so I returned it.
I will be going back to the Panasonic because it at least did the job while it was working. My understanding is that these nose hair clippers go bad after just a couple of years so you just have to use them while the motor is good and then get a new one. I haven't found one that is the perfect solution.
