Description of Old School Mahogany Wooden Lap Desk
Remember the old style school desks we used to use? The ones with hinged lids and tons of space for storing items. This lap desk replicates the utilitarian beauty of those desks and is further enhanced by richly stained wood. The brass hinged lid reveals plenty of storage space. Another brass hinge holds the lid up while you're looking for something in the generously sized storage space. Divided in two, one side measures 2-3/8" wide x 11-1/4" long and 1-1/2" deep. It's the perfect size for your favorite pens, pencils, erasers and other small items. The second side is much larger at 12-1/8" wide x 11-1/4" long and 1-1/2" deep and will hold your notebooks, calculator, envelopes, and even small books. Both internal sections are lined in protective green felt. Underneath the lap desk is a non removable foam bead filled pillow, providing solid support for your lap desk and comfort for your lap. The cotton canvas pillow should be spot cleaned only. This is no flimsy, lightweight veneer covered piece. It's made of solid wood and weighs in at almost five pounds.
