I've owned this monitor since 2006 and have never had one problem with it. The batteries have only needed to be changed twice in all that time. The readings are very accurate when compared to the manual blood pressure reading in my physician's office.The cost is greater than most others I have seen but this is the one my cardiologist suggested and it's worth every penny and more. It has literally been a lifesaver since I have congestive heart failure and can call my dr right away if a reading is off. It has a data port to be connected to the pc for printable logs but did not come with the software or cable at the time of purchase. I have been told that these items can now be purchased seperately at Sam's but I prefer writing the values on paper. You may want to check before you purchase this monitor because some packages of this model now come with software and data cable, while others do not. When told to start monitoring my blood pressure on a daily basis, I looked at a whole slew of models. My Dr. recommended Omron in general as a trusted brand.
For me, the 637 wrist model made the most sense...no need to remove shirt or roll up sleeves, and it will work on either wrist, so no concerns about even removing a wrist watch each time.
Easy and fast to use, it takes less than a minute. It has auto sensing technology to ensure you raise your wrist to the exact height of your heart (for accuracy). It keeps your last 90+ readings in memory for review by you or your doctor, and even creates an on-screen graph for each week so you can easily spot trends in BP.
All in all a very satisfying purchase, and frankly worth more than I paid on Amazon.
I recommend it highly to anyone who needs s to keep track of their blood pressure and want to do it as easily and conveniently as possible

I have had this monitor for nearly nine months and it has worked great. My blood pressure was getting close to the hypertension range and I was getting very concerned that at 48, I would require blood pressure medicine before I was 50. I wanted a monitor, but I wanted something that was easy to use and checked both blood pressure and pulse. This works great for both blood pressure and pulse and the LCD screen was very easy to see and allows you to you can save all of your readings and graph them if you want.
I initially checked my blood pressure every morning and every evening, now I just check it periodically. My recommendation is to try different methods to lower your blood pressure and check it constantly until you figure out what works best. Running proved to have the most positive effect on me, but I also recommend a good glass of Pinot Noir every night. :)

I purchased this product, very leery about its accuracy and just of the fact that I need to start taking charge of my own health in general... Very happy to report that after intermittently playing with it over the course of 24 hours, I have complete faith in its accuracy. Not only has it been on target for a total of ten times measuring my own blood pressure, but I also did two other people in my household and received accurate readings with theirs also.Rarely do I recommend products to other people via this forum, but I have to tell you that this is a valuable tool in taking charge of my health and that I believe that its usefulness could be of value to others.

The OMRON HEM-637 is simlpe to use. It is full featured. This is my fourth OMRON HEM-637. I bought my first one in May of 2007. I have use a Sunbean Cuff blood presure meter for 17 years.
My doctor warned me against using a wrist unit. I compared readings for 6 months. The were very close.
I know you are thinking, this guy is NUTS, FOUR UNITS!
I am in advanced KIDNEY failure. My blood presure is LIFE OF DEATH FOR ME!
So I take my blood preasure 4 to 5 times a day. Rather then carry one around with me and risk damage, I keep one in four convient places,
