I bought the "Intellisence" Blood Pressure Monitor because it was the most highly rated in a Consumer Reports review of a couple of years ago. So far, it has performed very well, though I have not had the opportunity to check its accuracy against the more sophisticated devices at a doctor's office.
The combination heart rate (pulse) monitor and memory feature are nice extras. In summary, I am very pleased with the product.

Two of the previous reviewers noted that their monitors didn't accurately read their blood pressure. I'm wondering if they made the same mistake that I made with my first two readings. My first two readings were 20 points higher than normal!! And then I read the instructions and realized that the air pump had to be on the same side as the palm of your hand. Tried a third time, making sure I had the air pump properly positioned. The next reading was normal. What a relief.
When I was researching which monitor to get, I debated between the Omron HEM-780 and this one. For whatever reason, the HEM-780 sells more on Amazon. The only advantages I could see, however, were that it had a larger cuff, a so-called Comfit cuff, and saves the last 90 readings rather than the last 60. What sold me on this unit, however, was a feature that the HEM-780 doesn't have -- an irregular heart beat indicator (not mentioned in the Amazon.com description but shown in the PDF of the owner's manual at www.omronhealthcare.com). Since the 9"-13" upper arm cuff was fine for me, I bought this unit and it's perfect for my needs. The Omron technology is otherwise the same for both units and the cuff on this unit is also comfortable so no need for the Comfit cuff. If you need a larger cuff (up to 17"), buy the HEM-780. If not, save the $12, get the same technology with the added bonus of the irregular heart beat indicator.

I recently purchased an Omron 711 A/C BP monitor and was getting high readings at home. I took it with me to the doctors office and he was baffled to see that readings I took with the machine in his office were 10-20mm higher than when he took the BP. We did it at least 5 times. At least I am relieved to see that others are having the same problem. My Omron was getting alarmingly high readings so I took it into the doctors office and found that it was 13 points too high. I was trying to decide if the nurse could possibly have been reading it wrong but that's pretty unlikely. Since there are several here with faulty readings there is a good chance mine is wrong too. I own this product for about a month.
I got this blood pressure monitor mainly for my parents to monitor their blood pressure. I think every house should have this because high blood pressure is known as the silent killer. Anyway, I love this product. It is highly accurate compared to the manual one I have. I like the fact that it has intellisense. I think it's what makes it more accurate. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is not very easy to set up the time and date. You really have to read the manual to do it. I am just lazy I guess.
