**Update**! This monitor is NOT accurate! Had me believing I was going to drop dead any minute. If you buy this, please be sure to go to your Doctor's office and compare it to a professional cuff! If I had the ability, I would lower my star rating to 3 for this product.
I just got this today, read the instructions and put it to use. Everything worked perfectly. The instructions are well written and easy to understand. The cuff is comfortable and easy to place. The pump is so quiet you can hardly hear it. The monitor is very easy to read and the learning curve on the memory, etc. is very easy. The symbols on the display are clear and easy to understand. I bought this simply because I want to keep an eye on my BP because Hypertension runs in my family. I am at an age now where it could be affecting me. My first test reading was well within the normal range. That in itself made it worth it to me. What a nice, quality, professional grade product.

this sphygmomanometer is a quality item. The cuff is preformed to curve around your arm comfortably. The air hose is sturdy with a large and easy to handle connector button that makes it easy to remove it from and insert it into the pump mechanism. In operation, the pump mechanism is whisper quiet and the digital readout displays large, crisp, easy to read, numerals and icons.
The Start/Stop button is large and easy to manipulate, but positioned to prevent accidental starting of the machine. The adhesive backed cover sheet that is included and is intended as a mask for the readout, was so unintuitive and would have covered so much of the display that I just left it off (all of the pictures of the device show it being used without the use of that cover sheet). instructions for proper use are prominently displayed on the Arm cuff and are easy to read and understand.
This is a very well thought-out and ergonomically designed piece of equipment.

A RECENT ROUTINE PHYSICAL REVEALED BLOOD PRESSURE A BIT ON THE HIGH SIDE( I WONDER IF WORKING IN A TAX OFFICE IN APRIL HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT??) ANYWAY, THE DOC SAID LOSE WEIGHT, AND MONITOR IT MYSELF AND YOU COULD GET HOME BLOOD PRESSURE MACHINES FOR UNDER $75. DID MY GOOGLE SEARCH, FOUND OMRON WAS TOP-NOTCH, WENT TO AMAZON AND GOT THIS MODEL FOR $56. BEEN USING IT FOR A MONTH AND AM IMPRESSED. SIMPLE TO USE, ACCURATE, LONG MEMORY, BATTERY OR AC POWERED, GOOD INSTRUCTIONS, COMPACT, NICE CARRYING CASE, WELL PACKAGED, AND MONITORS HEART RATE, IRREGULARITIES, ETC AND THE DISPLAY IS LARGE TO READ WITHOUT GLASSES AND THE FEW BUTTONS ARE CLEAR TO FIND AND OPERATE. WELL DESIGNED, SOLID FEELING, AND WORKS LIKE A CHARM. WHAT MORE CAN ONE ASK BESIDES FREE SHIPPING, NO SALES TAX, PROMPT SERVICE, AND A GOOD WARRANTY. I've had an earlier model for years, my health is good but I've always wanted to see the train coming if you know what I mean.
I'm a computer type guy so I have an Excell Spreadsheet with years of data and even some neat charts. Nothing official but just some
random measurements showing Date, Time, What I was doing (stressed, just woke up, amount of coffee etc) I could see a 2 year job I had
was really affecting my blood pressure, good thing I don't have that job anymore.
Anyway, this new model is much nicer than the old, the cuff is much improved, larger, preformed etc.
Also the electronics have made nice improvements, I think it's more accurate, larger memory, stores two people etc.
Omron typically makes great high quality stuff, we also have their pedometers.
I highly recommend this product and most of their others too.

This unit is very easy to set up and operate. The cuff has placement instructions stitched on the side. Follow these instruction any you will have no problem putting the cuff on the arm. It fits larger arms easily. Press the on/off button and it starts working.
My wife is a nurse and we found that her reading matched the machine. She was impressed. I like the memory and the ability to check morning and evening readings. Another nice feature is for the machine to take three consecutive readings and do an average.
The machine is durable. It comes with a case and an AC adapter. It does work with batteries if you chose not to use the adapter. I have been using the batteries for several weeks and have not noticed any change in the sound of the pump. Overall I found this machine to be well built. I would highly recommend this product.
