I've been wearing a pedometer every day for the past 7 years, at least. This is my favorite ever, because it distinguishes activity steps and aerobic/cardio steps. When you start your cardio (mine works for running, walking, and on gym equipment - even the bikes), it keeps track. Once you've done cardio for 10 minutes, it credits you with all the steps in those ten minutes, in addition to your regular activity steps. Every minute after that you keep up the pace, it adds steps to activity and cardio. It's a real motivator to keep it moving once you get started. It tracks 7 days PLUS the current day, so you can go for a weekly goal in addition to your daily effort.
I also find that it's sensitive enough to pick up most movement, but not fragile in anyway. I love the clip and the security leash. It's a little bulky, but worth the "lump" because I get so much out of it.

My goodness, this pedometer is the utmost, superior, fantastic piece of fitness equipment! I've shown it to several people and they too are impressed enough with it that they write the information down so that they can buy one. The safety strap most definitely secures this device and makes owning this one even more valuable. I'm mechanically challenged and the directions weren't very clear concerning the safety strap, so, I had my husband figure out how to open the safety strap clip (the clear clip located on one end of the safety strap). Because I was concerned that I would break it, I think I kept pulling when I should have been pushing downward. But, once it was opened, it was easy to see how it worked and it is significantly sturdy. I think all the other positive reviews are accurate and say it all. The only minor improvement that would be helpful is for it to have a timer.Customer Review: Great Motivational Tool

In the past 3 years I have tried MANY pedometers, Omron, Sportline, McDonald's promotional, etc. Omron is the only brand that I have found to be at all accurate. About 3 months ago I read about the newer HJ-112 in Health magazine and knew I had to get one. This pedometer is the most accurate one to date. I love the fact that I can stick it inconspicuously in my pocket or purse and still count my steps. Most others would pop off my waistband at some point and I would lose them. It is amazing how much more aware I am of my daily movement. Every step, and every short walk really adds up. One word of warning: be careful to remember to REMOVE it from your pocket before laundering your pants. I have already sent mine through the washing machine. Fortunately it dried out and still works perfectly, but from now on, I am keeping it inside a sealed Ziploc in my pocket..just in case.Customer Review: Very informative

I am a computer programmer and know that I seat a lot, so I wanted to know just how much and how much walking I should be doing each day.
At work I only get about 2000 to 3000 steps each day. ooch
500 steps in the morning before work.
I now take my wife for a walk each day to get up to 10,000/day.
I know I still have a lot to learn about my habits. Weekday activity vs weekend, etc. I also purchased one for my wife and its interesting to compare our days.
The pedometer was everything I hoped for and a little more. It's smart about calculating my steps and reporting my aerobic activity seperately.
I didn't want anything to complex, I just wanted it to work, and it does just that. I have counted my steps out loud and check it against the pedometer and it was very accurate.

So in my efforts to lose some weight I bought this pedometer to count the number of steps I take everyday. Before this one I had one last year. With my old one it calculated more steps than I actually took, so I threw that one away. This is very accurate and I love that it has a a clock and also that every night it resets the steps to zero. It has a memory so it can tell you the steps you took on previous days.
I agree with another reviewer that you should not clip it on your waistband as it may fall. I lost one like that( felt very bad ). However if you use the 'strap' they provide or better still just remove it from its 'clip' and tuck it in your pocket or purse, it works just as well and you will not lose it.
This is a great pedometer and I am happy with my purchase. Totally worth the money. BTW this pedometer never turns off, it is always on.
