This pedometer is silent, accurate and the clip holds it in place quite firmly.
The neatest feature is that you can stick this in your purse or pocket and it will still count the steps as long as the unit is perpendicular to the ground.
I have been using it for a couple of weeks and now my husband wants one too because it is such an interesting and somewhat fun way to guage your daily activity levels.
In case any Omron reps are reading this, it would be nice if the time that the unit resets to zero could be adjusted to a time of your choice instead of midnight. I'm a night owl and in this heat of summer sometimes I'm out walking on my street at midnight or later. When the unit resets then, it's a real pain! My workaround for this problem is to set the clock 3 hours behind real time.

I have been entirely pleased with this pedometer. I bought one a couple of months ago after checking reviews and ratings online. It costs a bit more than other pedometers, but is well worth the price. I have found its step counts and mileage to be quite accurate after calibrating as directed. The instructions are also a bit conservative in telling you which positions will not work: I have found it to be accurate even in some of the situations that are not quite kosher according to them.
I had a small problem that I needed to write to Omron about, and their response exceeded my wildest dreams in terms of speed and thoroughness.
I have spoken to others who have bought other brands of pedometer and I must say that all in all, this one gives excellent value for the price, and incredible customer service.

I've been using this Omron step counter for at least four years now. I first selected this model when Consumer Reports rated it highly. I agree. I've used many others, and they are pretty worthless. It's got to be reliable and accurate, and this one is. It will even pick up steps in pocket or purse. Easy to read and easy to program. I'm a nurse and health educator, and I recommend this to my students. I take it off my waistband and flash the memory to show how many steps I've had over the past week. Very motivating.
Like any stepcounter, they will get lost--fall off your waistband. The extra clip does help. Even if it goes through the wash, it can still be dried out and work. 2032 battery gives long life. At moderate price of $20, and with excellent service from Amazon, I can replace easily.

Omron makes high quality devices of all kinds, so I thought I'd take a chance on this pedometer after being disappointed by so many others. There are many reviews here that give you all the details, so I'll just mention those features that made this my go-to pedometer. I like not having this on my belt...I've lost two cheap pedometers and a cell phone using cheap belt clips, but this unit just drops into a pocket and I'm off. No worries about accuracy either, it's right on the money. I usually don't worry too much about setting stride, because I'm more concerned about step count since I know the distance that I walk on my route each day. It is simple to set up, and has good battery life. Primarily, I like it because it is not a "toy", but a real aid to mky fitness program. This well constructed pedometer is a real nice unit and easy to use. Very accurate and works as advertised..even in your pocket. The clip device works well on a belt and the additional strap with a little clamp can be clipped elsewhere, like on a belt loop, as a safety which has worked for me a couple of times when I was hiking. The unit can be easily removed from the "clip holster" for easy viewing.Gives you distance as well as steps and aerobic steps with the click of button. I set it down at night and it resets itself for the next day. Your previous days steps can be recalled and I think your weekly accumulation can be recalled as well. There may be slightly smaller units out there but this one in easy to read, buttons easy to access and full featured while not complicated. I would buy another one if I ever lost this one.
