Customer Reviews of Omron HJ-151 Hip Pedometer for Aerobic ActivityCustomer Review: Excellent Pedometer Summary: 5 Stars
I almost didn't get this pedometer based on the reviews saying it didn't clip well but I am glad I went ahead and got it!
First the pros:
- The clip isn't a belt clip or an eyeglass clip that you slip on or through, it has a hinge with a gripped clip to keep it sturdy in place. The first day I got it I went for a walk with my 1 year old in his stroller for a good 30 minutes. I went at a moderate pace and I never once felt the pedometer come lose or fall off.
- The pedometer also has a digital clock on it, I didn't realize that when I bought it. It just makes me love the pedometer that much more since I always forget to wear a wrist watch.
- Just as it advertises it keeps a weeks worth of steps which is awesome for folks like me who like to keep track of calories burnt (trying to lose weight) but sometime forget to mark the info down for a couple days.
- All the features as advertised are easy to use and virtually self explanatory. I only needed to read the manual to turn on the pedometer.
- All in all a great product for 15 dolar from amazon.com
The cons:
- I wish it was a little bigger, that's just my personal preference.
- The 'set' and 'reset|start up' buttons on the back of the pedometer are virtually identical so when you go to turn it on don't spend 5 minutes cursing thinking the battery is already bad because you are poking at the 'set' button like an idiot! ;) Just make sure you hold the back up to a light so you can clearly see the word 'set' or an arrow which points to the 'reset|start up' button. And also note both of these buttons are grey and indented so you will need a paper clip or something similar to tap them.
