Customer Review: This Pedometer is the BEST!

I've had five or six pedometers over the past couple of years, and none have given me the kind of performance I'd hoped for. I've had several clip on types, and one that was a slim, credit card style for carrying in your pockets, but they all had issues of one kind or another, and none were truly satisfactory. This Omron works as advertised, and it's nearly all perfect.
I like the fact that it retains 7 days worth of step counting. I like the fact that it will give you numerous readouts at the press of a button. I like that it will allow you to hook up to a computer via USB, and import all your data from the past several weeks, and display it in a variety of ways. I especially like that it has a small strap with an alligator clip, for attaching to your waistband or belt loop. I attach mine to a belt loop and drop it in my pocket. It counts steps all day, and never gets in the way or gets caught on anything outside. I never worry about losing it or dropping it. (It also comes with a small "cradle" which can also attach to your belt, but for my use, I find that too bulky.)
After many previous wild goose chases on my part, this pedometer is finally a bull's eye. Money well spent!

This pedometer is very accurate. I have used it for about 1 month and when I have gone out walking I sometimes checked the step count and it was right on the money. Because it uses an accelerometer, it is not easily fooled into counting steps just because it is shaken (perhaps while sitting at desk, etc). I really like the following features:
1) It automatically resets the steps each day at midnight so each day starts at 0 without me needing to reset the device
2) It stores a history of prior days (one month - downloadable to PC and 7 days visible on the device)
3) It records aerobic steps after walking continuously for a certain period of time
4) It measures distance and calories
5) It has a safety clip to keep it from getting lost if accidentally unclipped from my belt
6) Very small
7) It has a clock, so I always have the time (I don't wear a watch).
Since beginning to use this pedometer, I have increased my activity level and I lost 5.5 pounds in the month of September (coupled with healthy eating).
I have enjoyed using this pedometer and I have had no problems with it.
I give this my top rating.

As the title of my review, these are the two reasons I have a pedometer. Accountable because it keeps me focused on maintaining an activity level sufficient for good heart health and weight loss. Motivation because I use it to go beyond past performance, to drive myself to more challenging walking goals.
Some pedometers are only good for relative performance, to tell whether there is a difference between the activity level of one day over another. I've found this pedometer to be an accurate, informative and excellent gauge of both aerobic and normal walking. The software, although not as thorough as I'd like it to be, does make an easy to read database for performance review for the unit. It installs simply and the unit easily downloads data with the accompanying USB cable.
Highly recommended.
Addendum: This thing has been through my clothes washer TWICE, and it still works beautifully! I forgot to check clothing before putting it in the wash. Disappointed after finding it in my wet clothing, twice, I took it out, allowed it to air dry, replaced the battery of course, and amazingly found it worked just fine. This thing is THE BEST!

I've owned 2 other pedometers before purchasing this one, and found it more accurate in counting steps than the previous ones I've owned. It comes with a strap that attaches to the bottom of the pedometer, which
I use all the time, since the clip on holder doesn't stay attached to
your clothes that well, and I would've lost it many times without that
strap. I clip the holder to the inside of my pants pocket and found it
stays better than clipping to your waist.
It also comes with software that is for windows only, not Mac OS. The
software is very cool, and keeps you motivated in keeping up with your
daily steps. The data easily downloads from the pedometer, and if you
don't download everyday, the pedometer stores up to 7 days worth of data,
so you don't lose data if you transfer a few days later. The other
nice thing is you can set up your own daily goals, so you can start out
easy and change your goals as you get stronger.
Overall, this pedometer is a good value for a very reasonable price, and
I would definately purchase this item again without a second thought.

I am not going to do the regular review since there are really excellent reviews talking about the mechanics of this great pedometer.
I bought my pedometer on May 23, 2007 and have never regretted it. I have used it every day since, and it has been great to set my goals and see them achieved on the chart.
In January (08) after my workout I accidentally washed my pedometer in my Bosch washer which flips laundry back and forth with the fastest spin cycle I have ever seen.
I took it out, opened it up, and it was completely wet inside. I didn't think anything would work, but I left it opened with the battery out on a table. I checked it two days later, and I put the battery back in and noticed I could just about read the numbers but there were water beads still under the cover. I left it out one more day and put the whole thing back together. It worked and I could read the numbers again! I have used it every day since; the only thing that is new that has happened is the clip has broken so I need to get another one. I have had to replace the batteries once since (approx. 6-7 mo) I have owned it and not a problem since there is a two pack at Target.
