For brushing, it's a fine toothbrush on its own - nice soft bristles, and it does a great job. I suppose it has some "flossing" qualities, but I wouldn't say you could give up real dental floss.
However - that's not the whole story.
The whole story is the amazingly simple, yet incredibly useful way that it folds. When folded, it's compact and attractive. When you unfold it, simply push the brush head back to "click" into place, and it's as solid as a regular toothbrush. In fact, the shape of the handle is incredibly comfortable to hold!
I bought one for a trip, but quickly discovered how convenient it was to use at home. I can now just fold up my toothbrush when I'm not using it, and set it anywhere on the counter without worrying about getting the bristles dirty.
It's easy to keep clean, because there's room for the bristles to "breathe" so they can dry out between uses, and not get stale like other travel toothbrushes.
I've seen a similar design for sale in Japan for over $60. This hidden gem of a product is a steal. I recommend getting several in case you lose one, because they're hard to find in stores. I'm hooked on these.
