Customer Review: Nothing magical, but does improve the nails

Few things:
1. It does work (I've been using it for a number of years: there are good results -- my nails became thicker, firmer, and, though every nail is different, overall rounder in shape).
2. The company appears sleazy as far as their promo materials: no, your nails will NOT grow twice as fast! In fact, as far as the speed of growth, I noticed no difference between using onymyrrh, not using onymyrrh, and using some generic grease. They're welcome to cite verifiable research demonstrating the opposite, but they cite nothing -- don't overlook this. The veracity of their promises is on par with that of sleazy infomercials on late-night TV. Be careful about their absolutely unsupported declarations in the spelling-error ridden insert in the box the bottles come in. Also beware of the obviously shill reviews on this and other sites (one-review wonders are to be distrusted; notes from purportedly different posters sporting a near-identical wording, etc., all this stuff is to be distrusted. Be very critical of what you're reading on vendor sites; if you don't, you'll get pwnd sooner or later, and rather sooner than later).
3. To see results takes time: nails are dead tissue: you can't do anything with those you already have -- you need to let your "old" nails grow out entirely and be replaced by the new, "onymyrrhed" tissue. This takes a few months of once-a-day use! So don't be so disappointed if you use this for a month and see no difference: it's too early. A control period is three months to half a year, depending on how fast your nails grow (different for every person).
4. I used to buy it online for eight bucks a bottle. There's been an about-60% price increase for this product over the last year. This is pure greed; there's nothing in this grease that justifies money gouging: this stuff, when its nail use was discovered, was used to oil horses' hooves, for christ's sakes: surely it didn't cost $32 per half an ounce! It was probably buck a barrell, and it's the same stuff packaged in small bottles. Iow, search for cheaper options, don't get pwnd. The product is good but is rapidly becoming horribly overpriced.
5. Many guitar stores sell this product (overpriced even further of course) and offer more unrealistic (read: dishonest) promises, like that a half-ounce bottle will last you two years. Not true! A bottle, with a daily application on both hands, will last you about half a year.
6. The packaging is inconvenient: the opening is too narrow and the applicator too short, so once you get past the first half of the bottle it becomes hard to use. The last quarter is practically impossible to get out unless you use a different, longer applicator. The company needs to switch to the kind of bottles Sally Hansen cutucle oil comes in: large top, long applicator.
7. Do not overestimate the product: it's nothing magical and perhaps there are other products that work just as well or better. There's a ton of "folk" methods too (cuticle oil, olive oil, crushed garlick (yep; it's very rich in oils) and more amazing stuff: research, test, post results).
