Customer Review: Tastes good, plenty of calories.

OK people, I have taken a lot of different weight gainers, and I have studied nutrition as well as fitness. I'm gonna start out by giving my opinion. Serious Mass tastes good, packs plenty of calories, and isn't too expensive. It's definitely one of the most worthwhile gainers I've bought. That being said I'm gonna touch on a few points that incorporate other reviewers, as well as my own experience.
1. Taste: Some people said it doesn't taste good. In my experience, most people mix their weight gainers or protein shakes with water. Considering water is pretty much tasteless, you're pretty much drinking chocolate powdered water. Of course that doesn't sound tasty. Personally, I mix it with milk, which makes sense considering I want to consume as many calories as I can each day. Of course it doesn't taste like a chocolate milkshake, but taste isn't the highest priority. That being said, Serious Mass actually tastes good to me, and is something I can drink every day (or every other day) without getting sick of it.
2. Price: The BSN True Mass gives you 5.75 pounds for about 35 bucks, whereas I bought the 12 pound bag of Serious Mass for about 44 bucks. I also only use half the serving size each day, so the bag lasts me about a month, and it's still an extra 600 or so calories a day. So 44 bucks for a months supply is pretty good considering most other weight gainers cost at least 20 bucks more for the same size bag.
3. Thickness: Yes, it is a thick shake, but like someone else said, you're consuming a lot of calories in just one shake. It's supposed to be thick. Personally, when I make a shake, I'll put half the serving in the blender, mix it up with about 4 cups of milk (which makes over 1000 calories in just one shake), and drink it throughout the day. It sure beats drinking it all at once and feeling bloated for the next hour or so. I also found that it mixed very easily in a blender, and didn't clump at all.
4. Purpose: Serious Mass, like all other gainers, is a SUPPLEMENT. It's not a miracle shake that will increase your muscle mass just by having a shake or two every day. You need to find out how many calories you need to consume a day in order to gain muscle, and keep track of what you eat. Actual food will always be superior to weight gainers or protein shakes.
In conclusion, Serious Mass is a great product. My suggestion for people is to do what I do, and keep a blender full of Serious Mass and milk, and sip on the shake in between your meals. If you're wondering about whether to get this product, try and find someone who has it, and give it a whirl. Either that or find the cheapest bag you can find of this stuff so you can try it out.
