This is a great product! They actually protect the mouth sores from food, saliva, and friction from teeth or tongue. It is designed for mouth sores, not lip sores. There have been some negative reviews for lips, but that's truly not thier design. The gel can be slightly unpleasant but is not nearly as bad as the goopy gel that you can find next to this product in the store - the wand or brushes that don't quite cover the sore and then drip numbing gel all over your inner cheeks and lips. It its important to hold on to the disc for a few seconds so that it can stay in the proper spot. As a nurse, my guess to ease the removal of the disc would be to gargle with water to loosen the gel disc so that the sore doesn't get irritated further. Tottaly worth the money, even just to help get some sleep or focus at work.
