It is stronger yet thinner; generates different vibrations (3) around the toothbrush head and varies this according to pressure. Also has a built-in timer. The Oral B 3D is one of the best products on the market if your teeth matter to you. I have been using the Oral B for almost a year now, and my dentist has told me that he can see a marked difference in the condition and health of my gums and teeth! Since gum problems run in my family, this is a big deal. For those of us who have always been a bit lazy about brushing, the Oral B's timer tells you when you've brushed enough; the multi-directional pulsations leave your teeth feeling really clean - like you just came from the dentist! I recommend the Braun Oral B 3D Plaque Remover to all my patients. This brush is better than manual brushing and is great for people who may have a problem with dexterity or arthritis. Even children will benefit from this, with adult supervision of course. You will be happy with the results as I am when I see my patients' healthy gingiva. The very unfriendly people at Braun sent me anew one (eventually), but that only worked for another 9 months untilit too stopped. Should have spent the money long long ago. Timer feature is nice. My dentist was happier! Good for massaging gums for perio problems as well. To clean, the inside of the holder lifts out. Throw it in dishwasher with the two brushes and is disinfected(good especially after colds, etc.).
