I've used an Oral B since 1993, and am on my 3rd one. The first one finally "burned" out a few years ago, and the 2nd one I somehow left in a motel room, and it conveniently got "lost" (hope the maid is enjoying it), as when I called that afternoon, "nothing had been found"...
These cannot be beat. Like many other reviewers have said, the dentist's ALWAYS notice the difference when people switch to these.
Personally, I always brush on high speed until it beeps, then I switch to low speed, and re-brush, and then go onto my gums and tongue before stopping.

I have used a Braun for several years now and my first electric toothbrush from them finally died. My son had zero cavities upon getting his braces off whereas my daughter had eight cavities....the only difference was using an electric toothbrush.
When looking for a new one I just want to brush my teeth and some of these new models have just too many options (i.e. varying speeds, multiple brushes, multiple warnings....) this one seemed simple enough. I couldn't be happier - it works soooooo much better than the last model that we had but it is still simple. The speed is faster than the last model and the holder has space for three brushes. It is great to always feel like I have just visited the dentist!!!

Yes, it is true, I haven't had this clean feeling in my mouth since my last visit to the dentist. The Oral-B is made in Germany and is a joy to use.
My only problem is with this description from Amazon: 3 Flexisoft brush heads, 1 PowerTip brush head and brush head Storage Tower included. Do you see the number three (3)? And the number one (1)? That makes 3 + 1 = 4. Right? Not true at all, my toothbrush has two (2) brush heads. So, caveat emptor, Amazon, FOR SHAME, for false advertising. Maybe that is why it was a Gold Box item. Speaking of which; where is the Gold Box anyway???
Buy the brush, you'll enjoy it and your mouth will be much healthier.

Had an older Oral-B that has worked for years...still does. I remember when I first got the older one, it was SUCH an improvement over my hand brushing. Well, I have that feeling again. The new one definitely does an even better job. Love the 30 second reminder and the signal if you are brushing too hard. Some reviews indicate problems with refill brushes ordered from Amazon suppliers. I had that problem too. They were too loose for my old model...had to hold them on in order to function. They actually fit on this model as do the good ones from Target etc. Got a $10 rebate from the Oral-B web site plus a $15 dental visit rebate from the same site. Happy I bought this.Customer Review: Best electric so far.

This is my 4th electric toothbrush, and by far is the best performer. Had a cheaper version of the Braun model which filled with water with regular use, and subsequently malfunctioned. Reluctantly, we purchased this brush which is very similar in design. As of yet, no water has collected inside the toothbrush. This model is very powerful and does the job it is advertized to do. We purchased this particular model because it is the only one proven to be more effective than regular brushing in a clinical study. I agree that the results are consistent with the study, and hope that we do not get more water in the toothbrush (not covered by warranty, FYI)
