Nice toothbrush that meets pretty much every need. The internal clock feature that tells you how long the brush has been on is a nice touch as it really encourages you to brush for a full 2 minutes and the distinct change in vibration at 30 second intervals allows you to be aware of the time without looking at the clock.
The only reason I dropped a star is that the brushheads tend to collect water/paste so you have to remove them after each use and clean the unit with a towel or the paste collects and dries under the brushhead. Really a minor annoyance and for the quality of a brushing session it's something that most people wouldn't care about. Besides almost all brushes do it and at least this one allows you to seperate the unit and clean it manually or in a dishwasher.
Definitely an improvement over my old automatic brush.

This is a redesigned unit featuring some enhancements found on the Braun Synchron Shaver: LCD display, mobile charger/charger station, smart charging ability and differet brushing modes. These enhancement are cool to have but adds no significant value to day-to-day usage sans the portability factor of the mobile charge. The redesigned unit is bigger and heavier than previous models, definitely not a plus. The basic cleaning principal is the same as ones in the 7000 and 8000 series, so the result is not any better or worse. If you already have a 7000 or 8000 with Excel 3D, I don't see much of a reason to upgrade.
I do have a big complain about how Braun package their products. In addition to a cardboard carton, the box is sealed inside of a plastic blister pack. The plastic is very very thick and hard with very little trim. It took me almost 30 minutes to open it with knife, box cutter, scissors, and some other tools. I managed to sustain cuts on my hands while struggling to open this. I think it's very environmentally unfriendly and consumer unfriendly to use such packaging.

I was concerned about my purchase, having read several negative reviews about the product stopping working. I had lost my older Braun electric toothbrush, which I'd had for several years. I liked the specs for the Triumph, and Amazon had a great price. All the reviews were great, except for those who's product stopped working. I purchased one, anyway, and have been delighted. The best cleaning ever! I travel a lot, and it has a nice travel charger and case, and the features all work well and are useful. As long as it does not stop working, I'll be very satisfied. If it does, I'm coming for Braun!Customer Review: I am very pleased with this product.

I bought this toothbrush at the recommendation of my periodontist. I was having a few trouble spots in the hard-to-reach places and because I have had radiation treatments to my lower jaw and neck I have to be especially careful as periodontal surgery is not an option. After two weeks of using this toothbrush twice a day, my trouble spots were gone and my overall periodontal health had improved. Hard to believe that it was just the brush but it did seem to make a difference. I travel regularly for work and the battery holds its charge for at least 10 days and that is with my using it twice a day for 3-4 minutes per brushing. I am very pleased with this product.Customer Review: I upgraded to the Triumph from the Oral-B 8850 DLX and I am so glad that I did - this toothbrush is awesome and would recommend it to anyone considering it.

I like the feature where it knows which brushhead you are using and it automatically goes to that brush mode.
