I'm not medically trained in any way. But with three very young children, I often suspect ear infections or ear aches and wonder if it's worth the trip to the doctor's office. I got this so I could start to learn what an infected ear looks like to help me know whether we needed to go see the dr or not. I am very impressed with how easily this otoscope allows me to clearly see their eardrum. One peak and I can see a normal, healthy eardrum. And while we haven't experienced an infection since I bought this product, I have full confidence that I'd be able to see the difference after seeing a healthy one so many times.
I didn't buy this to diagnose or self medicate in my home, but just to save us unnecessary trips to the doctor's office when my son is tugging on his ears and being fussy because of teething or a cold or something that doesn't need medical attention. For that purpose, I find this to be a great product at a great price.

Finally, an inexpensive yet very functional otoscope for home use! As an ER physician for 23 years I have researched and used every otoscope on the market. My goal was to design an inexpensive otoscope that would be as functional in detecting eardrum abnormalities as the very expensive models I use at work. I also wanted it to be very durable. I feel we offer this in our Original Dr Mom Otoscope. I am so confident you will love this otoscope I offer a 60 day return policy. Each otoscope order includes color pictures of normal and diseased eardrums and an instructional sheet written by a physician describing how to properly use your otoscope for best viewing results. IMPORTANT: our otoscope also includes 3 Specula 4mm adult, 3mm child and 2.5mm infant. Customer Feedback: I am a pediatrician in the Dallas, Texas area and have referred many patients to your website to buy your original dr mom otoscope. I have told them that it is the best design out there and they should not waste their money on the fancy look-a likes. I could actually use yours if my Welch Allyn was not available.
