Customer Review: Hard to remember to take the readings every day

I give the Ovacue 3 stars because it only accurately told me which day I was going to ovulate 2 out of the 4 months I used it. It is easy to use and you don't have to calculate anything yourself. I have had it a year but only used it (properly not missing readings) for 4 cycles. I used the Ovacue with a BBT chart as well as ovulation strips to detect ovulation. BBT is the only real way to tell that you have ovulated. However, after the newness wore off I kept forgetting to take my readings everyday. If you miss a day you are pretty much screwed, and if you forget to take a reading before cycle day 3 you can't take any readings for that cycle because it will essentially be too late. It is VERY frustrating when your whole cycle is shot for using this monitor because you missed a reading.
I would recommend this if you already chart everyday, which means you are in the habit of doing it everyday when you first wake up and you can go ahead and do your readings when you take your temperature. Using it with other methods to verify whether it has worked seems to be your best bet.I have friends that have been using it almost a year now and they haven't had many problems- but they are still not pregnant. I don't necessarily attribute that to the monitor, they just have unexplained problems getting pregnant. I wouldn't pay 300 dollars for it. Some people I know have paid well over 400 dollars including the vaginal sensor. If you can get it used go that route, and after you get accustomed to your ovulation pattern you can more or less stop wasting money on strips.
Once again, charting is more reliable and I would recommend that above anything else.

I cannot believe this. I paid almost $300.00 for this product and realized today that it IS really based on cycle length as one customer stated in another review and not on "saliva electrolyte". If you adjust the cycle length in the user setup, you will get different "Fertile days", regardless of your saliva readings. I've been using this thing for months and finally decided to see what would happen if I changed the cycle length. I was not fertile by Day 8 of my cycle before adjusting the length from 30 to 26. After I adjusted the length, I had 3 bars of fertility on the same day. Nothing had changed -my saliva readings were the same-only the cycle length differed. What a joke-You might as well use an ovulation calendar, which is much cheaper and based on same principle as this device.Customer Review: Don't bother

This isn't worth $300. I don't think its working. It gives me a reading everyday but I dont see a correlation even after several months. The manual doesn't say either. I would not buy this again and I wish I could return it.
