Although I have been using this product for a short time, I am probably going to discontinue it's use, especially based on D. Whelans comments above. His comment of "If it was considered "harmful", then it wouldn't be used as a safe food additive" is ridiculous. That's like saying "I saw it on TV so it must be true". For 50 or 60 years mercury fillings were considered and promoted as being safe. Now the evidence is overwhelming they are dangerous and destructive to your health. I did run a search on Food grade potassium hydroxide. [...] They say here that it is used in pretzels, olives, or any other food use. Then why is it shipped as a "Hazardous Material? And why does the MSDS contain so many warnings? I think I will be looking for other ways to alkalize.

Aluminum in drinking water has been linked with Alzheimer's disease for nearly 40 years now. The aluminum industry has been working hard to come up with conflicting research, however one fact remains - aluminum is found in higher than normal concentrations in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. If you are at all concerned about this, then I would not recommend the pHion structuring agent, as it contains aluminum. As for the alkalizing solution, it is potassium hydroxide - a harmful and corrosive inorganic compound. It's widely used from industrial purposes to household cleaners due to its corrosive nature.
I'm really disappointed with this product and I should have learned more about its ingredients before purchasing. If you want to alkalize, I would suggest getting your greens, and avoid toxic chemistry.

If you want to raise your body pH, then drink something cheaper and more natural, like milk. Milk is alkaline and much cheaper by the gallon.

The other thing. I don't know if the CEO has any background in human physiology or not, but your body regulates your pH very well, so you shouldn't disrupt it unnaturally by taking in a lot of alkalinity. You need some acidity in your body for some functions to work, such as the release of Oxygen from hemoglobin in your blood cells into your muscle. If your blood is too alkaline, less oxygen will be released.

So, people, save your money by drinking milk and eating green vegetables. Don't spend your money on this crap.

The taste of the water was so terrible that it was not even drinkable. When I called pHion about this, they merely stated that "some people don't like the taste." UGH! This drastic change in the taste of the water should be mentioned somewhere; how deceiving of the manufacturer!
