Customer Review: Great Taste, hardware is flimsy and cheap

I have been using the 3 stage faucet months for years. The water taste is the best, the automatic shutoff when the filter is full is also a plus. However the faucet mount hardware is cheap metal looking plastic. They went from a 5 year warranty a few years ago to a 90 day warranty now. I have broken a couple trying to replace the filter and trying to remove it from the faucet. Basically decide where you want it to go and leave it. They need to improve the design, not very easy to replace the filter.Customer Review: leaks badly

I had been looking for a faucet mount water purifier and bought this one (without reading the reviews). Also, bought a years supply of filters. Within two months the filter started cracking and leaking. The product is not made to handle even moderate water pressure. If I don't want to get squirted, I have to turn the water down so low that it just dribbles through. I've happily used the Pur water filter screw-on holder for kitchen sink faucet for over 7 years.
They changed the design. The new fitting that screws on to the faucet is made of plastic (instead of the old metal) and the threaded part isn't big enough to securely attach to the faucet. When the water is turned on, the filter holder flies off my faucet like an jet airplane squirting water all over the kitchen. It is impossible to get filtered water out of this piece of junk. The idiots who re-designed this thing should get the Darwin award for extinction of a great product.
I will never buy another one of these and they have totally lost me as a loyal customer.
Now I need to find another company that makes water filter housings that work and that has good filters that remove chlorine, etc.
Goodbye Pur -- whatever corporate idiot made you redesign this product without testing it on real world faucets should promoted to Chairmen of the asylum.

Whoever designed this change in the PUR filters must never wash dishes by hand. The new design is so bulky you cannot see what you are doing in the sink. I spend all my time looking at this stupid thing and cannot see anything under it. I am getting a sore neck trying to see around it. The original design worked great. The filter is still the same but the faucet mount is pathetic. After this one breaks (and from what I read in other reviews it will break within the year) I will never buy PUR filters again.
