This is one case where I am glad that what was shipped was different from the "picture" I thought I was buying. I assumed I was replacing an old-style Pur on-faucet filter with another example of the same, the one that screws onto the faucet with an adapter and begins to leak after a year or so. (I was buying another because I have a great number of the filter cartridges already on hand.) Instead, what was delivered was a significantly revised design which (fortunately for me) uses the same 3-stage filter cartridges. The new unit snaps on and off the faucet instantly using a spring-loaded, O-ring-sealed adapter that "feels like" it will remain both secure and leak-proof and offers easy freedom of rotation into the bargain. We shall see. In the meantime, another improvement is the easy snap-open/closed filter bypass, which can be flicked with a pinky when both hands are full. The whole kit is much easier to mount than the old one, and much easier to use.
