Customer Reviews of Pampers Swaddlers Dry Max Diapers, Size 1-2 252-Count

Customer Review: Good value
Summary: 4 Stars

I had good luck with these diapers. They will leak sometimes, but it has been my experience that all diapers leak sometimes. I thought that the 1-2 size was a bit small however since they just barely fit my son when he got to 12 lbs and they state they will fit up to 15 lbs. Otherwise a great product overall.

Customer Review: They Leak!
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought these instead of the swaddlers sensitive because they were a bit cheaper and just as soft, but the Dry Max is as bad as everyone says. The diaper may start out a tiny bit thinner, but once these diapers get wet they swell up and make my baby girl look like she has a tire lodged between her legs. Worse yet, every few days I go to her for a nighttime feeding and find the whole back of her stretchie is moist. This has happened twice in one night! Apparently when she's lying down and these get saturated, the urine wicks up the back and out of the diaper. This is probably the result of the lack of an absorbent core. Plus, the gel in these diapers makes her privates look shiny, and I can't seem to get it off with just a wet wipe. I'm going back now for the swaddlers sensitive (sans Dry Max). Too bad I'll have to switch to another product/line when she hits size 3.

Customer Review: My baby loves them!....Not anymore! Buy with Caution!
Summary: 1 Stars

My little girl is almost 5 months now, and we were given the original Pampers Swaddlers with the bue line at the hospital. They worked great. We got home from the hospital and I sent my husband out for another BIG box of them, and he came home with these new style swaddlers. At first I was really upset that the blue line was missing. I mean, "hello! we spent $42 bucks on these! i want the blue line!" I called the #1-800 on the back of the box and spoke with a customer service representative. She said that a lot of folks have been calling and giving the same complaint. She also said that the reason they took the blue line off was because the diapers are so absorbant, it took too long for the blue to show to indicate wetness. So hopefully that helps people understand it a little better. She also offered $20 in coupons towards more diapers and said that the swaddler sensitives still have the blue line.

Anyway, I tried these Dry Max Pampers, and I have to say that they are really great. They are thinner and seem to be very absorbant. I typically only change the diaper before or after a feeding and we dont have any issues with diaper rash or leaking. At night, I put some Desitin on her butt and she sleeps from 11pm - 7am without any issues. The diapers are really thin, so when she does a #2, if you can't smell it, then you can see the brown discoloration on the back of her diaper. I also lightly pinch the front of her diaper where her legs are and if it feels thick/squishy then I'll proactively change her. After 5 months of being without the blue line, I'm totally fine without it. The diaper is so thin; it's easy to tell when it's wet. We usually change 6-7 diapers a day.

The one time we had a diaper rash, it was really bad! She had on one these diapers, but was also strapped into the Baby Bjorn, and it was really hot outside. So I'm sure it was some combo of all of the above that caused the diaper rash. Having a wet diaper jammed onto her bottom on a hot and muggy day is bound to cause irritation.

The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that these diapers have a really intense "baby smell." "Baby smell" should be subtle, but this is in your face. It took us a while to get used to it and it's a big enough issue (to me) that I would take a star off for it. Other than that, we love them. They fit her little body and butt perfectly. We haven't had a single leak or blowout ever...I'm sure I just jinxed myself...but that's the truth.

I'm scared to try another diaper because these are just too good. Now the swaddler wipes is another story, don't get me started on those!

I am re-tracting the above glowing review after a series of amazingly bad diaper rashes after moving to the size 2 diaper. My daughter now 8 months moved into the size 2 (she's a petite little thing) swaddlers with dry max and OMG overnight she developed a horrible diaper rash which after 2 weeks of chemical free and cloth diapers has finally started to heal. Overnight, her bottom's skin peeled away leaving it raw, bloody and exposed. We went to the doctor to check if it was a yeast infection or something besides a typical diaper rash, but even the doctor said that he looks like a "contact" reaction. There was no change in her day-to-day routine except for a change in diaper size. Not sure if the size 2 diapers have more chemicals in them because biggers babies perhaps have bigger messes to clean up. I returned all of my size 2 and up Swaddlers and are now trying to find a diaper with less chemicals. I was so shocked at her wounds, that I will never NEVER go back to Pampers again! I am so disappointed. I've submitted pictures to Pampers on their website. And if others like me, have had a bad experience, you can write to them and receive a full refund on your purchase. [...]. Amazon's 365 return policy is great for all other unopened boxes.

Customer Review: Dry Max and the AWFUL Chemical Smell!
Summary: 1 Stars

As a new mom I surveyed my older sisters trying to find out what the "right" diaper was for newborns and they all said pampers swaddlers. After receiving copious amounts of pampers swaddlers (with dry max) as gifts I am reading that other people have complained of diaper rashes and chemical burns!! I had no idea that pampers had updated their diapers.

My daughter has been irritated after wearing the swaddlers with dry max and has also leaked out of them. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong but other reviewers have complained about the same. She leaks urine out even though I change her promptly. Also the diaper gets HUGE when she has urinated. I thought the dry max technology was supposed to make the diapers thinner! The smell coming form the diapers is AWFUL and makes me worry about the effects of the chemicals on my 6 week old. It is enough to make me consider cloth diapering! I am so upset with the pampers brand and hope they listen to all the parents asking for them to stop using the dry max technology and bring back the old diapers! I will be returning all the diapers and will not be buying your brand until you do.

Customer Review: Shipment took FOREVER!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

The diapers were just fine, but I gave a low star score due to the fact that this shipment tookover 2 weeks. I've never waited more than 4-5 days for anything on Amazon. I ended up having to go and purchase a box of diapers to tie us over. Glad i didn't pay extra for shipping, I would have been pretty p o'd! We're on the east coast, so if you're planning on ordering diapers, plan ahead, or pay extra to expedite shipping! Wasn't worth a couple bucks saved.
