Customer Review: About What You'd Expect for the Price

I've had one of these for about a year. It worked fairly well for several months, but then went into a slow decline in which it occasionally yanked hairs instead of trimming. The blades just get dull. It's not all that easy to clean, which doesn't help things. For this price however I suppose it's hardly unexpected, and buying a new one every 9-12 months isn't the worst deal in the world. I do feel sorry for the woman who bought one for her husband who hates it. Her heart is in the right place.Customer Review: It works...but not as long as it should

This is actually the 2nd one I've bought. It works as advertised but just doesn't seem to last long. The 1st lasted about 1 year but when you condier it's probably only used a minute or so once or twice a week that's really not a lot of actual use before it just quits. It did the job fine and when you get down to it I suppose it's pretty much a disposable item since the price isn't much. I just expect it to last longer.
Will it do the job, yes. Will you have to replace it, yes.

I have to say that the Panasonic ER411 performed rather well for approximately 18 months. Considering I used the trimmer approximately once per month, I am not entirely sure I would recommend this product.
Pros: effective at trimming nose and ear hair with comparatively little "tugging" although it did bring me to the point of tears a couple of times.
Cons: Simply did not last very long. After 2-3 very careful cleanings, the flimsy cutting mechanism fell apart.

This is my 2nd Panasonic model. (I dropped the last one after 2 years, and it broke.) This new version is identical except that they've added a plastic thingy in the middle, to prevent hairs from catching/pulling. While this is a nice gesture, it means you have to really work harder to get some trimming done! Multiple passes and odd angling are now the norm, and I'm disappointed. This product served me well for about 9 months and then I dropped it on the bathroom floor. It still works but is very, very loud. For something people will use in the bathroom it is too fragile. If you buy it I would consider it a disposible item. As others pointed out it really does the job well trimming nose and ear hair. You really can rinse it under water without it breaking. Just don't drop it.
