This is the second electric shaver I own, after using an older shaver for 10 years, also from Panasonic. Shavers are supposed to shave, of course; but they get better ratings in my opinion the closer and smoother the shave, and the less they irritate your skin. Also, ease of use and maintenance are a plus. Well, this shaver has all of that: close, clean shaves but zero skin irritation, and the self-cleaning system is just wonderful. * Just doesn't seem to be able to shave the hair on my chin. I have used this for 2 months (about 1-2 shaves a week). My beard hair is of regular thickness. I just don't understand why the shaver can't shave the upper neck and chin portion. It leaves patches of hair.
Overall, it didn't work for me, but it seems that it works for most folks. I might just be the outlier
