I purchased this model to replace my old Panasonic Linear which had finally come to the end of it's life, to which I thought I would be getting one equal to what I was used to. I wanted a shaver that was wet/dry capable and would provide a comfortable and close as shave as possible to a hand razor. Little did I know that this new Panasonic was far superior in how it cuts for a truly razor close shave with total comfort. The digital readout on the handle is a plus as well in telling you how much battery life is available in addition to indicating when it should be cleaned. Clean up is so simple and easy by just putting a drop of liquid soap on the shaver head, turn on, let it foam, shut off and rinse. Thats it and it looks and smells fresh as new. For a decade or more I stuck with one of the classic block-shaped Remington shavers. It worked great and I kept it going with new batteries and old parts, but the screens were becoming very hard to find. If I had to change, I wanted a shaver that was easy to use every day, worked well for tough, thick whiskers, charged quickly and had a pop-up trimmer.
Based on reviews here, I took the risk of buying this shaver, and it turned out great! I really enjoy using this shaver. It's easy to clean, shaves clean and close (takes a few passes though), charges quickly and works well on my neck. The pop-up trimmer is small, but it does the job.
I can only hope that this shaver will last me through a decade of shaves like my old Remington, because I'd love to keep it for a very long time.

I am a person who hates the chore of shaving my face. And with a back problem, cannot stand in front of a mirror for too long. I have had Remington, Norelco and my last razor for the last 5 years was a Braun. This Panasonic is a heaven sent to me. The clean, quick performance makes shaving a breeze. It is so hi-tech and quality built. The speed of the cutting heads gives me a very close shave in minutes. It charges up quickly ( 1 hour). Then tells me how much charge is left. When it is time to clean the heads, it will tell me that too with a prompt on the led display. But the most amazing thing of all is cleaning. I always hated to take the time to clean my old razors. I turn on the turbo speed blades...put it under a faucet and presto! It is cleaned. Dont hesitate to but this razor. You will love it!Customer Review: Great Shaver

I had a remington rotary and a norelco rotary before that. The norelco had battery failure and the remington had a cleaning system that also charged the unit. I liked the cleaning system but a short time after buying the razor the stores stopped selling the cleaning solution. I mixed my own cleaning solution for some time until I saw this razor that you clean by throwing some liquid soap on it and rinsing it off. Sold. Not only is the maintenance effortless it gives a fantastic shave with no drag. The rotary razors did not do good in the areas under the nose. This one gets in close and fits nice in the hand. The rotary felt more like a power tool in your hand.
All in all I would say that I am pleased with this product and if the longevity is good I will buy another when the time comes.

This model is great but not as good as my older Japan-made ES8016, which I sadly had to replace with this one a few weeks ago as it was not shaving close enough anymore after 4 years (four years!!) of faithful service.
I have tried Philips and Braun and while they are ok, nothing compares to Panasonic.
I have read complaints from some users that the shaver is noisy. Nonsense. They are very quiet, especially considering the motor spins much faster than competitors'.
Try to get a Japan-made model (this one is made in China) and do not settle for anything less than those featuring their 13,000rpm "linear motor". Absolutely amazing.
Also; superlative craftmanship, quality, durability, design and completely submersible/washable!
