After replacing my portable Waterpix 10 times, I decided to try Panasonic EW1270AC portable oral irrigator. This item uses AA batteries instead of recharging the battery. So far I have been very pleased with this product. I have replaced the battery one time since I started using it. Although Waterpix was very good about replacing their portable waterpix, I think you would be happier with Panasonic. I don't mind the small tank that some people seem to be unhappy with.Customer Review: Good Product.

I was a little cynical about the effectiveness of gadgets like this, but after using it, i am satisfied that it does what it proclaims. Regular use of this product should keep your gums healthy and food particles out of the gaps between the teeth.
The make and quality of this product is just top class. The material feels like soft rubber and you know its high grade plastic. Very well made and of course its one of those rare items, because its "Made in Japan".

I purchased this item after a long search of other similar items. Originally thought it was going to be quite messy & I would use it in the shower. That is NOT the case. It is very easy to use and not messy at all. You need to fill the unit about 3 times for a complete cleaning of your teeth, but that is not a problem at all.
Works great, I guess the Panasonic Name says it all. I understand it is much better than the "Water Pic".

The irrigator works quite well. It is small enough to reach to the back of the mouth; the water reserve is good for maybe 1/2 of a mouth rinse. The 20 minutes in the description refers to the battery life; one charge lasts for a couple of weeks of use (I am using rechargeable batteries).
UPDATE: seal between pick and resorvoir has worn out after 6 months of use, and water now sprays and leaks from the bottom of the pick. Downgraded to 2 stars.

Don't think this will replace your countertop waterpik, but this machine's perfect for travel. I have braces and can't stand the feeling of food stuck in them between meals. This portable irrigator went a full week on a single pair of batteries and a single filling cleaned my braces out quickly. It's not tiny, but well designed to minimize space while not in use.
I'd highly recommend it for anyone needing this type of travel companion.
