This compact sized irrigator works quite well. I use it while in the shower, because it does spew water around if you are not careful. You have to keep your lips in an almost-closed position around the sprayer tip to fully prevent spraying outward. I have a permanent retainer secured to my teeth and this machine works well at cleaning out food residue. My bathroom vanity space is very limited, so this sets in the shower for my use. I love the fact that it takes regular batteries too. I would purchase replacement tips for other family members who use it. They are available through Panasonic's website. I have owned several AC-powered oral irrigators over the years and as a frequent traveler I missed their hygienic benefits while on the road. This irrigator collapses into a small package that easily fits into my shaving kit and I never take a trip without it. Further, the pressure developed by the small battery-powered pump is more than sufficient to flush debris from the gingival areas of my teeth. I have two permanent bridges and two implants that require fastidious cleaning and this product makes the process easy and thorough. My dentist was so impressed with my oral health, I gave him one for Christmas.Customer Review: Great for a portable!

Love this product as a portable with the proviso that it is just that, portable with limited power but in a pinch and for travel it is a great second to my HydroFloss which I would replace the minute it failed. The Panasonic allows me to travel abroad with something guaranteed to get the food out between my braces. Mind you, I am an adult with braces who does a lot of public speaking attending a lot of business meetings so I cannot afford to go with hairy teeth from a salad or spinach dish. You all know what I mean. My periodontist loves the combined effect of my travel Panasonic and my HydroFloss.Customer Review: Great product!

The chore of flossing has never been easier! I have a rather long bridge and it was a real pain to keep things clean underneath - no longer with this irrigator! I keep it in the shower and cleaning is a daily event.
I do tend to have it to fill it a couple of times, but only takes a second. Power behind the water is very adequate to achieving a thorough cleaning.
The only thing is I wish it came with a couple of tips to be able to share with the family. Additional tips are more than $5 each, even on Amazon.
Overall, a very solid construction and performance.

I was very pleased with this product. I wanted to use it while travelling because my main one is too heavy and large to pack. This waterpik is truly portable because it took up less space in my suitcase, the batteries lasted nearly three weeks before I needed to replace them, and it worked so well I did not miss my main waterpik I left at home. The only disadvantage is I had to do at least two refills of water in order to get the job done. I solved that problem by using a tall glass to dilute the mouthwash and water, and then refilling the waterpik to get my second washing. A great product!
