Customer Review: This could be the beginning of a revolution...

First off, I have double edge shaved before. This process was nothing new to me, but for some reason I lost my razor during one of my multiple moves, and the cheapest and most available replacement was a Schick or a Gillette shaving system. Don't get me wrong, these are viable shaving systems, but I grew up in the time of the "Blade Wars." From Mach 3, to Quattro, to Fusion, I had them all because they were available and on sale. Then the pain and hurt of going to the store and paying $15.99 for 5 blades that lasted me about 2 months or so...I just couldn't do it anymore. I have had ENOUGH! I was tired of paying exorbitant prices for what I felt was an inferior product. I was tired of having to buy a new kit because none of them were compatible.
Now I understand that companies like this one need to make money, and it is a free enterprise system. But these companies want to make it seem like they're looking out for our safety by taking the "dangerous" blade and fitting it in a "safe" cartridge. The bottom line is that these companies are doing this to maintain control of the blades. Controlling the blades means that you can raise and lower prices at will, and if you don't like it...get another brand of razor. I say, if they're making a big enough profit to sponsor NASCAR teams, then it's gone too far.
However with double edge razors, hundreds of companies are making the blades and they're "greener" compared to all the plastics involved with cartridges. Also, if our fathers and grandfathers and forefathers shaved just fine with one blade, then why can't I? Why do I need 4 or 5 blades and a "trimmer blade"?
This razor is the beginning of a revolution. It's telling these companies that adding a blade does not equal "innovation." I want to pay 10 cents per blade instead of $3.20 per blade. I want to enjoy my shave and engage in the process instead of raking 10 blades across my face as quickly as possible. Men don't get a lot of time to be their most primal and natural selves. We need to get back to those times when we enjoyed making ourselves look good without the threat of razor burn or ingrown hairs. For those that left double edge shaving for cartridge shaving, "we'll see you back soon." For those who left cartridge shaving for double edge shaving, "welcome home!" Lastly, all points do not have to be made using "scare quotes" but it sure helps. Bask and Enjoy!
