I'm not sure what caused the pain in my foot initially, but after a couple of cortisone shots from the podiatrist I wasn't exactly in pain, but felt like I gum stuck to the bottom of my foot, though there was nothing there and I couldn't feel anything when I rubbed my foot. The doctor gave me pads to put in my shoe but they didn't help and sometimes even made it more uncomfortable. Then one day a tried on a pair of shoes that really brought my attention to the fact that my second toe wasn't lying flat. I got one of these toe straighteners and it has given me more comfort than anything else. I use one everyday now.
