Customer Review: Keeps mice out of your engine compartment and smells good as well.

We use this to keep mice out of the engine compartments of our cars at the suggestion of our mechanic's secretary. (the other suggestion was fox urine, ugh). We live in a rural area and rodents would get into the engine, chew up wires and build nests in the car.
What we do is take a couple of makeup sponges (the sort of foam ones that are used for putting on foundation) and put it into a small piece of leftover window screening. Zip tie shut. We then zip tie a couple of these contraptions carefully in the car engine compartment (keep away from moving parts and hot parts). We also sometimes add just a drop to the air filter in one of the cars where mice really liked to build nests.
We then use a medicine dropper to drop 10 drops or so onto each sponge every month or so. This way you do not have to redo the whole thing each time.
Seems to work, have not seen any mouse activity for the last 6 months.. Does make the inside of the car smell like a candy cane the first few days. My kids remind us that the car no longer smells "minty fresh" when the smell runs out.
