After a few days of use, all the minor bleeding issues I had whilst brushing stopped. My gums were still sore - in fact Periogen stung a bit back then. I called them about it at the time and their customer service person told me that my gum pockets wern't used being irrigated and that I had a few choices: slow down on the frequency of use or reduce the amount of Periogen placed in the irrigator. The third option was to not change a thing and let Periogen do its job. Well, I decided that the hurt was a "good hurt" and just brassed it out two times a day.
A week after that, I suddenly noticed that there was no discomfort at all, and most of the swelling that I had for years was gone. A month later and all pain and swelling had dissappeared. Love this product.
