Customer Review: Great Razor AND Goodbye Shaving Bumps

I've used many different electric razors over the years, from all of the major companies. This is, by far, the best of the lot. Let's do some pros and cons, and then I'll go into detail.
PROS:
Shaves extremely close
Quick charge
Easy to clean
I get about 3 weeks per charge (shaving about 3-4 minutes daily)
Reminder to clean
Travel lock
NO MORE SHAVING BUMPS (aka ingrown hairs)
CONS:
Feels a bit odd in my hand at first (I have big hands)
No corded shaving, must use charger stand
Replacement heads a bit pricey, but I know where to look to find them cheaper
OK, let's talk about this. The shaves I'm getting are extremely close, and seem to be safety razor comparable. I have a heavy beard, and I have smooth skin well past 8 PM after an early morning shave, and that ain't bad.
Charging is very quick, but you must use the charger stand, no corded shaving capabilities with this. I don't leave the charger plugged in, I believe constant charging reduces battery life, at least in my experience. I've gotten 6-8 years from previous Norelco shavers using this technique as opposed to constant charging.
Cleaning is very simple. First you get a little reminder light (looks like a water faucet) every other shave to remind you to clean it. Just pop up all three heads, run it under water, and you're done.
There's a travel lock, which is basically an extended push of the power button. This locks the shaver so you don't run the risk of having a dead battery on arrival. Been there and ended up shaving with my wife's razor due to not bringing the charging cord (this on a different razor than the 1250X).
I suffered from shaving bumps, also known as ingrown hairs. My beard tends to be curly, and the hairs would curve under and cause bumps growing under the skin laterally. I don't know why but this has stopped completely with the 1250X. Very happy with that outcome even though I hadn't expected it. A very nice bonus.
The unit does feel a little strange in my hand. Not bad, just different. I have large hands, and this is probably the reason. But I can maneuver the razor all over my face with no problem. I guess this is more a personal observation than a complaint, but I present it for your review and information.
You must use the charger stand in order to charge the razor. No way to just pack the razor and cord and not worry about charging. But this is a very minor quibble, and not one worth taking a star off for. As I said, I don't leave the charger stand plugged in, I believe that reduces the battery life.
The replacement heads are expensive, but if you look around you can find them for less. Try a warehouse club for example. As far as the heads themselves, I believe there is a reminder light that comes on after a year to remind you to change the heads. Not close to that time period, so no way to tell you if that works. In my experience though I don't wait for recommended times. If the razor feels "wrong" I replace the heads. Better shaving that way.
All in all I recommend this razor without reservation. Well worth the cost.
