I've always been a fan of Norelco elctric razors since the early 80's, so I had high hopes for the Philips Norelco Qt4070/41 Turbo Vacuum Beard, Stubble and Moustach Trimmer Pro. My hopes were not given over to disappointment, and I was met with a product that not only met, but exceeded my expectations. This trimmer can be used either corded or cordless, and for me, even on it's normal setting, it does a fantastic job trimming hair, and keeping any trimmings cleany vacuumed into it unit's storage compartment. I simply do not need turbo mode, though I admit I am not a person with thick or coarse hair growth. I can see Turbo mode being a handy feature for the hairier mammals of our species, however.
Battery charge life is long, and charge time is relatively short, around an hour from a dead battery to full charge, and numerous trimmings between charges. The LCD display shows battery level, as well as trim length setting, and there are length index marks along the side of the trimmer as well, a nice feature if the LCD ever goes on the fritz.
The size is easy to grip, not too small to feel awkward, and not to large to feel clumsy. In fact, it is a nice size to trim and neaten bearded areas other than the face, for those who are so inclined, without worry of clipper heads pinching any skin, they are well designed and simply do their job without risking any minor blood loss from the dreaded clipper bite other trimmers can give. While there is no mention of this practice in the accompanying literature, nor does Philips Norelco endorse or mention such use of this trimmer for that anywhere on their website that I can find, it is still a very capable tool that I have found fit for the job.
I was also surprised at how quiet and relatively minor the the vibration was of this trimmer, given how powerful and effective this little trimmer is. The trimmer comes with a little brush to clean it up with when you are finished using it, and for those who travel, there is a travel-lock that prevents the unit from accidently being bumped on during travel. Simply hold down the power button for a few seconds to lock and unlock this feature.
Overall a very rugged and well thought out device, worthy of anyones grooming arsenal.
