I compare using this toothbrush with just having my teeth cleaned by a dentist. I originally bought a Sonicare for my husband and it worked so well we bought the extra heads and we share the same base. Now he is traveling so much that I want my own base. It is several years old and still brushing very well, neither of us having any complaints. In fact, we were both so happy with the results, that I bought my father one as well. The next time my dad went for his usual cleaning, the dentist was amazed at how clean and nice looking his teeth were. As a daily coffee drinker, my dad would have bad coffee stains on the inside of the teeth, that the dentist would have to work at to remove. Since he got the Sonicare, cleanings are much more pleasant and less work. For smokers, the Sonicare will remove stains if you use it on a regular basis. It's truly amazing what this brush can do and it's worth the money. I don't think it matters which particular model of the Sonicare you get. Sure it sucks that the battery can't be replaced but if it lasts you for approx. 4 years, isn't that worth it? I proudly recommend a Sonicare to everyone.Customer Review: Wouldn't live without it!

I have been using a Sonicare toothbrush for about 5 years now, and cannot imagine using anything else! I just purchased 3 more to give to my nieces for Christmas. I am 50 years old, have absolutely no problem with my teeth or gums, and I give the credit to Sonicare! That used to be an issue for me - but no more. I am not a "flosser", and the first time I went to have my teeth cleaned after using the toothbrush for several months, they were amazed at the lack of placque on my teeth! Where I had always had to go every 6 months, they now only see me once a year. And my hygienist never fails to comment on how clean my teeth are! I highly, highly recomment this product! I take in when I travel - it keeps its charge for at least a week - never tried longer than that. And in the rare case I have gotten stuck away from home unexpectedly and had to use a plain toothbrush, I can't wait to brush my teeth when I get home so they feel clean! I am a dental hygienist and have seen many results from the use of various electric brushes. Sonicare far outways its competitors especially for helping to stabilize periodontal disease in conjunction with a 2-4 month visit for perio maintenance. If the tissue is healthier with normal 'pocket depths,' then the Braun products, or manual toothbrush used with good technique are fine; but overall, they still do not leave the tissue as healthy (firm) as the Sonicare. In all cases, the areas between the teeth need regular attention, ie floss, go-betweens, proxybrushes, stimulators, or other effective tools which stimulate the gums and break down bacteria. The main ineffectiveness of the brush has NOT to do with the brush, but with its inconsistant use, or poor technique by its user. The main patient complaint I have gotten is that the brush is too vigorous for them, but those complaints are few compared to those who are pleased. Hygienist's opinions vary, so ask yours for an assessment.Customer Review: One of the best small INVESTMENTS I ever made!!

You don't know what a clean mouth is until you use a SONICARE toothbrush! My first SONICARE was purchased about 8 years ago and I have not stopped using one since. (I recently replaced it because my last one just stopped recharging one day.)This one is a slighty different model but it does the same mouth purifying job as the last one. I remember the first visit to the dentist after I started using it and both he and the hygenist said my gums looked great and improved from the last time I was in.(I had the beginning stages of gingavitis in many of my teeth and some more advanced in others.)Since then I have always had a great checkup and my gums are healthy and teeth stay clean.Here's a TIP>>I brush with the SONICARE for the two minutes, then I floss, then pour a little LISTERINE on the brush and brush again to tighten up the gums. I can't stand to rinse with it for the whole 60 seconds but it's not as bad to BRUSH with it.BUY THIS TOOTHBRUSH!!Customer Review: A pleasant brushing experience

I've always had a hard time brushing my teeth long enough and with the right amount of pressure (so as to not affect the enamel and gums). The Sonicare is the answer to my dreams!!
I LOVE brushing my teeth with this thing. A little beep goes off every 30 seconds so I know when to change positions. And even though it's recommended that one brush one's teeth for the full 2 minute cycle, I frequently end up brushing for 4 or more minutes since it feels so good and it makes my teeth and mouth feel refreshingly clean. Honestly, can you think of the last time you brushed your teeth with a regular toothbrush for 2 minutes at one time?
Admittedly, the initial investment is a bit steep. Yet I'm convinced it's worth the expense. The brushes last about 6 months and cost about $25 for 2 replacements. I still consider this to be a fairly small investment for my dental future. This is a great brush. Try it with confidence!
