Customer Reviews of Philips Sonicare Advance 4100 Sonic Power Toothbrush

Customer Review: Will be sticking with electric
Summary: 5 Stars

I had been hearing lots of good things about the effectiveness of electric toothbrushes, and my dentist recommended getting a Sonicare specifically, so when I saw this on sale, I had to jump on it.

This toothbrush surpassed all my expectations. I had an electric toothbrush at one point when I was a kid, but I stopped using it for some reason, and the improvements between this Sonicare and the one I had 15 years ago are vast. It's much stronger, yet surprisingly gentle on the gums. The reach is excellent.

I've gotten good mileage so far out of the batteries. Like other reviewers say, it's a good idea not to charge after every use and instead only when depleted (NiCd battery). For me, that's about once a week or so.

Overall, I've been very satisfied with my return to an electric toothbrush

Customer Review: brusha-brusha-brusha: Sonicare Advance 4100
Summary: 5 Stars

This company has an excellent reputation in the electric toothbrush field and it's well-deserved. My last version of this brush lasted at least 5 years and was trouble-free. The directions, and web site, advise--and instruct--the user on removing the batteries for recycling before disposing the dead brush, though it's a difficult task. My only quibbles are really advocacy items: the plastic in the product should be recyclable; the mfg used to include little stickers to remind the user when to replace the head (for the lame among us), and they no longer do; and I fear this model may be phased out in favor of others with more (needless, in my opinion) bells and whistles...the machine turns off after its allocated 2 minutes of brushing, does it really also need sub-timed sequences for each quadrant of the mouth?

Customer Review: 1 week into it
Summary: 5 Stars

After using the toothbrush for a week I can say overall I feel my teeth are cleaner than just using the electric $5 pulsar Oral B I had been using for the past few years. The first 2-3 days are needed to get used to the action of the brushing and my gums got a little sensitive as a result. My teeth stay cleaner longer throughout the day and since I have a tendency to brush too hard and too long this has helped me cut back on both. It shuts off after 2 minutes and I'm putting effort into making sure I don't push too hard on the brush. Just let the Sonicare do the work. The only thing that is a bit of a detractor to me is that it is a much larger device than I would have thought. The handle is several times thicker than a normal toothbrush. Make sure you read the instructions to use it right.

Customer Review: Good system, great price
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my third Sonicare since 1994 and there's one thing I've come to realize: Give or take a couple features, they all clean teeth equally well.

This one might not have the special 30-second quadrant brushing beeps that some newer ones have. It might not have the skinny, flexible neck either. But when it comes to getting your teeth sparkling clean and impressing your dentist, this one gets the job done just as well.

Battery life? Never had a problem with any Sonicare, and this one is no exception.

Replacement heads? Still a bit expensive, but well worth it. For some reason, I seem to go through more of them with this model than the previous two.

I definitely recommend Sonicare and wouldn't hesitate to buy this model again.

Customer Review: Awesome!

My mom had used this model for 2 years before I asked her to purchase one for me. I was nervous to use an electric toothbrush, but I'm glad I made the switch. The very first time I used this toothbrush, I could see an instant change in the appearance of my teeth and gumline. I cannot compare this product with others (since is the first and only one I have used) but I can say that with each and every use, this brush delivers the most thorough cleaning I've ever had outside of the dentist's office. I would definitely recommend this specific product to anyone looking to switch to an electric toothbrush - while I have not spent much time researching other models, this one seems to be one of the more reasonably priced (for what you get) and delivers excellent results.
