Customer Review: Great toothbrush, will never go back
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this toothbrush about 3 months ago here, I was a bit weary of the price since i had never used a sonic toothbrush before, but I figured it was worth a shot. I have been more than happy with this toothbrush. My teeth have never felt cleaner.

The UV light works well, it also adds an added benefit of helping the brush dry quickly. The gumcare mode is really the main one I use, it combines the 2 minute clean with a 1 minute cycle for your gums. The 1 minute gum cycle has it's own quadpacer as well, which is kind of neat.

My only partial complaint is that the brush heads do need to be replaced quicker than a normal manual toothbrush, but this was something I expected going in. The head gets much more wear and tear with how fast the brush moves. I got about 2 months out of the head before it needed to be changed. Of course if you think about the extra 1 minute gum cycle adding an extra 1/3 time to the brush cycle, it kind of makes sense that the brush would wear out an extra 1/3 faster, i.e. 2 months instead of the typical 3.

Of course if your looking at this brush the head replacement is probably pretty trivial seeing as how, well, if your willing to spend this money on a brush, purchasing replacement heads should not be an issue.

I definitely will never go back. I was completely sold on this brush within the first couple days. Great product Philips!!!

This is a GREAT investment in your dental hygiene. I have had this for only a few days and it knocks the pants off of my old Sonicare Elite that I have had for almost 5 years. New Flexcares are the way to go in my opinion. The look and feel of this tooth brush is very high tech and sleek. In comparing the Elite model with the Flexcare plus I have noticed a tremendous amount of improvements. The first is the Procare brush heads that come with this toothbrush. They are slightly more course (which I like) than the original brush heads that I bought for my Elite. They also have a blue strip on them which diminishes in time to signal when you need to replace the brush head. It just feels like my teeth are cleaner than when I used the Elite. Also the 5 modes of cleaning you can choose from compared to only one with my Elite. The quadpacer feature is pretty nice. It is basically a small and short beep every 30 seconds to signal you when you should switch brushing from one quadrant of your teeth to another. And the last thing that leapt out at me was the UV sanitizer built in to the charger. After 5 years with one model, I was growing paranoid about the cleanliness even though you change up brush heads. Some added accessories come in very handy if you travel a lot. A miniature travel case with an extra brush head and a miniature charger come with this purchase. I highly recommend this item to anybody.

Customer Review: First expensive toothbrush
Summary: 5 Stars

I had a plan to buy a new ipod this summer but instead i got braces. Before and increasingly after i got braces i kept getting talks about the benefits of an electric toothbrush compared to a manual and out of those electric toothbrushes the name Sonicare kept coming up. This toothbrush is very expensive so i read as many reviews as possible before spending any money. Some reviews were by new comers to the electric toothbrush world and others who weren't. Most ,if not all, reviews were pretty good so i bought it. Ive had the toothbrush for about two weeks now and am very pleased with my state of the art oral hygiene product. My teeth whitened up fast and areas where i'm used to staining are all clean now (from what i can see in my mirror). The different modes on the toothbrush (clean, gum care, refresh, massage...etc) are more fun than something i see as i couldn't do without. However the two-minute timer in the clean mode is cool (ya i said it) but with a new "toy" like this the two minutes don't seem long enough. The uv sanitizer is also neat, obviously didn't take that much care in sanitizing my toothbrush head before but now that i have something to do that...WHY NOT? ALL IN ALL id say its worth it...as i read in customer reviews by previous sonicare owners the toothbrush lasts about 5 years and its nice they give you a year long warranty.

Customer Review: Amazing toothbrush!
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I've been using this toothbrush for about a week and am amazed at the difference between this and when I used a regular toothbrush! I always considered myself someone with pretty good oral hygiene - brushed (with a regular toothbrush) twice a day, floss every other day. But since using this toothbrush, my teeth feel so much cleaner, even at the end of the day right before I'm going to brush again.

My favorite aspects:
- the UV tootbrush head cleaner - kills 99% of bacteria and is really quick
- the fact that the cleaning is divided into 4 parts, 30 seconds each. It makes sure you brush for the full two minutes and get every part of your teeth.
- the travel charger that comes with it
- the fact that I know my gums are getting a great workout - it even has a setting called "gum care"

The best thing about it is that though it gives you a great clean, it doesn't hurt or scratch your gums. The bristles are soft and the toothbrush isn't hard on your mouth. I definitely recommend this toothbrush, you and your dentist will be much happier!

Customer Review: Great product although a bit pricey
Summary: 5 Stars

So far so good. I love this toothbrush. I don't think I'd go as far as saying I feel "dentist" clean after using this thing but it is exponentially better at removing plaque than a regular toothbrush. I discovered quite quickly that if you want your toothpaste to stay on your brush be sure to place the brush head inside your mouth before turning on the Flexcare+. So far I have used the Clean and Gum Modes and the quadpacer has does its job well. I think I prefer Gum Mode as I like the extra 15 second intervals (1 min total) at the end for targeting the insides of my molars. I have been using the UV sanitizer after each brushing and I assume it is doing its job. The intensity seems spot on and the 10 minute cycle seems about right. I've been digging for the actual clinical studies that Philips commissioned but I can't find anything other than a weak abstract on the Philips site. You would think if this UV thing of theirs worked as they claim they would give consumers access to the detailed results.

I have not had any issues with this product yet. I hope it lasts at least throughout the 2 year warranty period since the cost was so high. The main thing that scares me is removing and replacing the brush heads after each use. All that pushing and pulling seems like it is destined to break something in the handle.
