Customer Review: Very good brushes, with some caveats

I have been using Sonicare Elite for many years, and I am very satisfied with the brushes. Some pros and cons to note.
PROS
(1) The brushes are very effective at removing plaque when used as indicated, more so than just a regular brush, and they tend to be long lasting.
(2) DO buy the Phillips branded brushes. I have purchased other brushes that fit the handle, only to have the bristles wear out too fast or the magnets in the brush shake loose.
(3) Old brush heads are great for cleaning small items like jewelry and tools.
CONS
(1) These brush heads are prone to mold and mildew if not taken care of properly. Prop the heads upright to drain water. An occasional squirt of Tilex or X-14 will help keep the brush base clean.
(2) The handle recharge base is also prone to get dirty easily and should be cleaned with soap occasionally.
(3) Off-brand brushes tend to fall apart easily from the vibration and use. Even with cleaning and proper care, I have had brush magnets fall off, mildew inside the handle, the base and brush completely separate, among other things.

We LOVE our Sonicare brush, but when the heads wore out I balked at the cost of new ones so I bought the store brand replacement heads. What a mistake! The store brand heads were useless in less than a month of use. The magnets that connect to the base kept falling off, the heads were not as fine as the Sonicare, and the heads at their best never worked as intensely as the original Sonicare ones.
Now that we have the original Sonicare heads our teeth feel completely clean and fresh from the dentist again.
My only request is that they make the color rings more varied. My eyesight is fine and our bathroom is well lit, but I still have to hold the heads up to my face and compare them side by side to tell which one is mine. They are grey-blue, green-grey, and green-blue. It would be nice if they were burgundy, green, and white or something more distinct.

Sonicare e- series replacement brushes are the best around for my money,a complete healthy look and feel when you are done brushing,really keeps your gums healthy,and does a great job on your teeth when used twice daily,i have been useing the Philips Sonicare Electric tooth brush for years now,my teeth could not be any more healthy than they are,this is from my dentist,so if he says everything looks good i'm a happy guy, since i have been useing Sonicare i have had great results,and oral hygiene is very important, a very good product for the money.Customer Review: Philips Sonicare E-Series Replacement Brush Head (3 Pack)

I purchased this Philips Sonicare E-Series Replacement Brush Head (3 Pack)as replacements heads. My only trouble I find with Sonicare is with the color-coding neck bands. It is very hard to determine who's brush is who's. Therefore, I have used red nail polish to put small dots on "my" brush so other family members will not use my brush. I wish Sonicare would use brighter colors, not just gray and green. I also wash out the inside of the "hood" from time to time, as gray matter gets stuck inside. Otherwise, good product.

We had used another Sonicare previously and found that the replaceable brush heads were just not available included toothpaste, etc.
Well, I really searched for reviews on their brushes and this was the one that seemed to be the best. It is so easy to clean and use. I love the travel boxes that came with it and I liked the fact that there are two in a box (for my hubby and me), but only one charger, less stuff on the sink counter.
We love it!
