I bought this to mix powdered drinks like whey protein. For that, it's perfect. Surprisingly powerful. It mixes all kinds of powdered supplements that used to leave clumps.
It fits perfectly into a glass. Much better than the hand mixers. The little plastic blades do flare out to 2-3 times diameter, so keep away from sides of the glass.
It's fairly easy to clean. I just run it under hot water for a few seconds. It does spray water a bit and still requires a quick wipe to keep residue from building up in the corners of the blades.
It is much quieter than electric wand mixers and there is no splashing if kept submerged.
Overall, this does just what I wanted it for. Quick, easy, efficient.
The batteries seems to last. I've had mine over a year. I don't use it every day (maybe 2-3 times a week), but still on original batteries.
My only complaint is that the mixer stem could be a little longer to reach the bottom of taller glasses. But I have a good work-around. I just fill the glass half full and then mix. I can then reach the bottom easily and there is less splashing even if I happen to lift it out a little too high. Then, when it's well mixed, I add the remaining liquid and give it one quick mix. Perfect. This would be a good buy at twice the price. I paid $7.
