I got this after the dental-hygenist asked me if I used a power toothbrush. Her question was a hint, not a compliment. After some searching, I decided that for the price, what did I have to loose.
I did in fact loose something - the crud on my teeth! Now, every night my teeth feel as smooth and clean as they do after a professional cleaning. I even notice that flossing after brushing with this toothbrush is easier, as much of the easy / large bits are already brushed away.
I used to dread brushing at night, but this makes it easy to do a good job when tired (the instructions say not to press or rapidly brush side to side). The included 2 minute timer also keeps you on track.
Battery lasts a great 4-6 day time, and then I charge overnight again. I only use this once per day, so your time may be lesser if you use it twice a day.

I had been getting my teeth cleaned every three months when the hygienist recommended that I buy an electric toothbrush. So, I bought the Oral B mainly because of its low price and the reputation of the company. There were several other brushes I could have bought. It's strange how well this brush works. It does make a little noise but it is not unpleasant. It is easy to operate with the on/off buttons. I like the brush itself because it is smooth and soft and I even found 'extra soft' replacement brushes from this company. The whole thing--brush and recharger unit -- are inconspicuous and can be tucked away near an outlet. I now go for a professional cleaning only two times per year and the hygienist smiles a lot. She says that this brush has kept stains from forming and removes plaque and other gunk very well. Pro: 1. Rapid motion. 2. Solidly built. 3. Uses standard Oral-B brushes. 4. Automatic 2-minute alarm. 5. Easy to grip and control.
Con: 1. Charging unit is suited only for American current, so if you are going to travel you'll need either a transformer or a different brush/charger. 2. There is no way of telling if the unit is charging (i.e. a light that goes on when the handle makes proper contact with the charger). 3. The On and Off buttons are not clearly demarcated and you have to locate them by touch, which can take some getting used to.
Overall I really had to dig to find anything negative to say. This is an excellent item which I have been using for over a month and I recommend it to anyone in the market for an inexpensive tool that is totally well suited for its task.

My mother bought me one of these rechargeable Oral B toothbrushes when I was 19, I am now 31. I use it at least once a day, most likely right before I go to bed. I have not gone to the dentist since I was 17, until 6 months ago. The dentist didn't believe that I had not seen a dentist in that long of a time, I have NO cavities and I use the cheapest toothpaste money can buy (I don't even think its anti-cavity). I am very much a true believer of this toothbrush and have since bought all of my kids and my step kids these to use. I am glad now the new versions have the two minute timer, as my first one did not. The price of this toothbrush is SO valuable, however the replacement heads are kinda expensive, I can get them for about $5 a piece, but I guess filling cavities would cost more money.Customer Review: how did i live without it?

How did I go so long without owning an electric toothbrush? I always thought they were pricey, so I was surprised to find how affordable this model was. My boyfriend's dad is a dentist, and this was the toothbrush he gave him when he started developing sensitive teeth. I was skeptical, the last thing I thought you would want to do is give your teeth a good scrubbing when they're already sensitive. Now I'm no professional, but from personal results- my teeth are feeling better and it's amazing how clean they are!! Almost like having gone to the dentist for a deep clean. I wouldn't substitute this for regular visits to the dentist though. I highly recommend this. Totally affordable (although the replacement tips can be $$$), but for what it does... it's worth it!!!!! Do it!!!
