These bandages are long soft foam tubes. They are intended for your toes but I use them on my arthritic thumb. It is perfect protection while typing and relieves the pain and stress of touching the spacebar or mouse, or when using scissors. It keeps my thumb warm when it is cold. (Sort of like leg warmers do). They aren't sticky so you can slide it off when you don't want to wear it. I would check with your doctor if you have circulation issues before using, but otherwise these bandages have helped me a lot. My only problem? Remembering where I put it when I take it off!
