After applying this product on my canker sore, I could eat, drink, and talk comfortably, though it feels a little weird when I put it on for the first time. Although I don't think it "treats" canker sore, it does help the healing process, since the canker sore is protected from further injury or irritation due to food and drinks. From my research, there is no medication for canker sore and your body heal itself within a week or so. This is probably why the manufacturer packages six patches in one box. One patch typically lasts for 6 to 8 hours depending on your mouth movements and the kind of food you eat. For example, eating hot soup or porridge erodes the gel quickly. The gel sticks firmly and it is rather difficult to remove it before it fully dissolves. Regardless of how effective this product is, the best treatment is prevention.
