I have owned and used this electric rotary shaver for several years. During that time I have tried a variety of other makers' shavers, both rotary and non-rotary. Why did I try others? I continued to believe that there might be something better on the market given the progress of technology in a wide variety of products. Despite these sojourns, I continually returned to what has simply been the best electric shaver. Why call it the best? It gives a very close, irritant-free shave. It is easy to clean: simply let your warm water faucet wash out any residue and clippings. Every couple of years, I replace the cutting blades (sp-27). They are readily available here on Amazon.com, Ebay, and variety of online vendors. Until technology invents a shaver that is not dependent upon blades, I will be reluctant to waste anymore money on trying to find a better shaver. I already own the best.
