Customer Review: Beat the dreaded toddler pee

I didn't start cloth diapering my elder daughter until she was two and nearly ready for potty training, and we had problems right off the bat. We would've gone straight to the potty without trying cloth, but I was having a miserable pregnancy with my younger daughter, and then recovering from a c-section, when Elder Daughter was ready... And so we learned about the dreaded toddler pee the hard way.
We were already fans of RnG detergent, and I emailed Kim with our issue while Funk Rock was still in the testing phase. She was kind enough to send me a large sample of Funk Rock - enough to de-funk my entire stash! - and it killed the ammonia/funk issues immediately.
The thing with Funk Rock is that you have to follow the instructions carefully to get the desired results. You really do have to start with -clean- diapers. Seriously, the cleaner they are to start, the better the Funk Rock will do. Also, the label tells you how many diapers you can do with the recommended measurement. I always rock a soak for at -least- an hour before de-funking (longer if possible). I use the correct amount of Funk Rock for the number of diapers in the load, and then run another wash to make sure all the Funk Rock is out of my dipes.
I do wish the bag was larger, but this is more a wishful thought than a complaint. I only need Funk Rock once every 3-4 months, so paying less for a smaller bag is better than dropping twice as much money on a large bag that will sit for months at a time.
