Customer Review: Burning Effect, not Cooling effect!!

I read the reviews before purchasing and should have listened to the negative ones. I normally use Systane Long lasting eye drops. I should mention that I had Lasik surgery 2 years ago and so if you are looking for a drop with extra lubricant for that, I would stick with the Systane. This one is not bad for what it was designed for, however. The cooling effect felt more like a burning effect for me.Customer Review: Should be used on terrorists and criminals

These are absolutely DREADFUL!
I am the ideal candidate for soothing, cooling, lubricating eyedrops. I am over 40, have chronically dry eyes and spend 10-12 hours every day on a computer. There are few low or high end drops that I have not tried and I am have a very high pain tolerance.
Rohto Artic drops burn like acid. I have tried them 4 times under different settings and each use was pure torture. First thing in the morning-miserable experience. Mid afternoon at work-my eyes watered and my nose ran for 45 minutes after use. Early evening after removing my makeup-I had to sit down on the edge of the tub because the discomfort was so intense. After leaving a smoky party, I used the drops and I could not see to start the car because I could barely open my eyes. The whitening effect was nothing out of the ordinary and there was no lubricating effect, unless you consider copious tearing as lubrication.
Other than as an interrogation/torture method, the only possible use I could see for these drops is a one time gimmick "golly-let's see how this feels" experiment by some young stoners-who would undoubtedly never use them again from the buzz kill.
What a nasty product! Put these in the Christmas stocking of someone you despise.
