I have been lucky(?) enough to have more than one opportunity to use my Royce Premium Air Walker. Two fractured ankles in two years! The physician who cared for my first fracture (Weber B) used the Royce. The physician who is currently caring for my 2nd (tri-malleolar) fracture put me in an instrument of torture.
I dragged my husband to our storage shed to find my "old boot." On a follow-up visit to my orthopedic surgeon, I had his boot in my lap and my "old boot" on my leg. I showed him the differences and told him that after crying and taking 3 percocet, I took off his boot and prayed that I wouldn't have any mishaps until I found my old one. He inspected my boot and agreed that it was great, smooth surfaces, air bladder for changing leg sizes. He immediately took it to one of his staff members who researched it. Alas, it is not a product distributed by his contracted vendors.
As for me, I am happy as a clam in my Royce. One of our good friends is currently in one of the "torture boots." I feel sorry for her--but she will be out soon. I have a long way to go!
