This ear thermometer is a perfect product. It is ideal for babies, kids and toddlers. The reading is instant and memory function is useful. Leather case is good for storage and travel. You do not have to keep on changing probes as this is probeless. Just wipe clean. Very good product.

I have a 6 month old very active grandson and for him it is easy and in one second my daughter knows whether her son has a temperature. It is the same one that her doctor's office uses.
Customer Review: Takes a little practice to get consistent readings. Summary: 4 Stars
This thermometer works fine, but on first use, I had to try several times to get an accurate reading on my 11 yo. I could feel with my hand that he had a slight fever but was getting readings that were actually below normal. I also had some inconsistent readings from one ear to the other or from subsequent readings from the same ear, and I got unusually low readings (95) on my husband. It may just take some practice in pulling the ear back properly, since after several tries I was getting more consistent readings. So though it does take only 1 second to get a reading, I felt I had to take several readings to be sure I was getting an accurate result. On the upside, it only takes 12 seconds for the thermometer to be ready to take a new reading.
One annoyance with the product is that its default setting is Celsius. You can change it easily to Fahrenheit by holding down the "on" button for 3 seconds, but you have to do it *every stinkin' time*! You cannot make Fahrenheit the default. Also, if you forget to change it and get a Celsius result, you can hold the "on" button for 3 seconds and it will convert your reading. It's not a big enough issue to return the product, but had the product description mentioned this, I likely would have chosen a different thermometer.
Oh, and be aware that the instructions are written in "Engrish." And no, that's not a typo. I.e., no one who speaks English as a first language reviewed the instructions before they were printed. They are mostly decipherable, though mildly amusing.
One instruction I have a problem with is this: "Calibration frequency: two years, please done [sic] it by local Supervision Bureau." OK, so I get that the thing needs to be recalibrated every two years, but what the heck is a "local Supervision Bureau"? Who does this? More likely I'll just need to buy a new one in two years.
Customer Review: Decent thermometer Summary: 4 Stars
This thermometer takes both C and F which I like. C is it's default and you must hold the on button down for 3 sec they say although ours is more like 5 to get it to change to F. My only problem is that sometimes even when I push the button to take the temp or hold it down it never takes the temp, which can be frustrating when I'm fighting a toddler. But the temp is always accurate which is the most important thing.

This thing is a lemon, i've used it 10 times in a row & got 10 different readings. You are better off using the regular digital thermometers that you put under your arm or tongue.
