Two words best describe why this is such a great shaver: Brute force. Sanyo's SV-RX10 isn't very fancy. It doesn't have angled inner blades, a pivoting and/or swiveling head, Linear motor, a titanium screen or even a cleaning station. What it does offer is a 4.8v high-output motor that can cut through oak trees. For someone like me, who is cursed with very thick facial hair and sensitive skin, this is all that matters. In fact, this razor has relegated my previous favorite, Panasonic's ES 8065, to second place. Yes, the Sanyo is noisy accompanied with "over-enthusiastic" vibration and, yes, it does use a NiCd battery (most people don't know this but NiCd batteries can output more amperage than NiMH and Li-ion at the same voltage and, when recharged properly, will withstand more charging cycles as well) but all that stuff is secondary to what's most important: How well it shaves. Sanyo wins me over here. I can get a blade-close shave, wet or dry, in almost half the time of any of my Panasonics (I've had three of them: the ES 8065, ES8152NC and, most recently, a ES8168S) with a lot less skin irritation to boot. One other feature that absolutely astounded me is how quick this thing recharges. It went from fully-spent to fully-charged in about 15 minutes! Absolutely amazing. So, in summary, if you need a razor that can handle "steel-stubble" thick facial hair that other shavers struggle with, then the Sanyo SV-RX10 is just what the doctor ordered. It's what DeWalt would have made if they decided to get into the electric razor business.

Great for guys on the go, absent-minded rechargers and frequent travelers this stylish unit will recharge using the supplied 4 Ni-Cd batteries in just 1 minute for what is the average shave of 3 minutes.
